I was just looking over the ERA numbers-this has been a strange year for pitchers so far. 2 of the top 7 pitchers in the ML in ERA are pitching in this series. Before the season, several guesses at a combination of those 2 probably wouldn't have resulted in a combo of Jason Marquis and John Maine. Here are the top 10:

Brad Penny, Jake Peavy, Jason Marquis, Tim Wakefield, John Maine, Tim Hudson, Dan Haren, Gil Meche, Kelvim Escobar, Braden Looper.

If you would have told somebody during the offseason that Marquis, Meche, and Looper would be close to each other in the ERA rankings, most people would have believed you. If you would have said top 10, they would have committed you :D Add into that Maine and Wakefield, and this has been a little bit of a topsy turvy year so far.

Ooh I just realized this game is gonna be a Joe Morgan special.

I'm gonna drink every time Morgan talks about Jose Reyes' god-like qualities or generally says something stupid. This way if the Cubs lose I really won't care.

So we predict the drunken blackout to occur sometime between the bottom of the first and the middle of the second, right?

Whew, maybe, I'm worried about the pre-game.

Any word on Lee and if he'll be back for this game?

I have a feeling he'll sit tomorrow.

I wouldn't doubt that he sits.

Let's get a win streak going again.

Oh yes, this is also on ESPN. So, even though I don't live anywhere close to Chicago, the game will be blacked out for me. Like I don't already get to see just Cubs games that are on WGN or games against the Cardinals. I hate you, stupid blackout rules.

I don't think so...last April a Marlins game was on WCIU/ESPN and aired on ESPN, so it may be that you will see this game anyway.

Wasn't that the game that Z broke the bat over his knee?

I'm gonna be pissed if this is the case.

How do we know Morgan has this game? It could be Dusty

I'm actually glad the game is on WCIU now.

Dusty won't be doing it. In another thread (I believe in Baseball Discussions) he said that he wouldn't be doing any Cubs games this year.

I'm actually pretty sure Dusty is doing the game tomorrow.

where did you hear? That would be AWESOME!

BTW, for chicago suburbians. Is this on WCIU or ESPN? Because it's weird. ESPN is SPONSERING it for WCIU? I just don't get it. Usually ESPN is always broadcasting it's MLB games in HD. But if it was in WCUI it wouldn't even look like HD. And I'm so used to seeing those stupid ESPN announcers in HD. I'm tired, sorry for the weirdo rant. :?

I'm actually pretty sure Dusty is doing the game tomorrow.

From this thread.

On his return to Chicago
I have a game at Sox park. It's June 4: Yankees-White Sox. At this point I'm not ready to [call a game at Wrigley]. I don't need any more abuse, you know what I mean? I was booed and jeered enough. You use every experience to your advantage to learn. Some you'd just as soon forget; some you don't. But it wasn't all bad.

Dusty isn't doing the game.

This game is in Shea...he may very well be doing the game.

Oh yes, this is also on ESPN. So, even though I don't live anywhere close to Chicago, the game will be blacked out for me. Like I don't already get to see just Cubs games that are on WGN or games against the Cardinals. I hate you, stupid blackout rules.

And, according to TVguide.com, Marshall, IL (Mediacom) will also get the Cubbies tonight!
