9 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 27 K, 81 pitches

Change Lou back to Dusty, and make that 181 pitches instead of 81, and you might have something.

Expecting? At least 5 innings, fewer runs allowed than innings pitched, and more strikeouts than walks.

Hoping for? 6 IP, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, less than 100 pitches.

I don't see how Guzman is overrated. He's pitched far better than Miller and he currently gives us the best chance to win as the 5th starter. I'll take Guzman over Miller 10/10 times. He didn't look bad yesterday. He also looked dominant when pitching out of the bullpen for us. Let's hope he's successful in his new role.

I didn't think the over-rated yngster could or would make it out of the 2nd, good for him.

i guess dusty does post on this board after all.

I think it depends on who is rating him. I think some people definitely overrate him, but the general consensus is far from that. He's definitely the best option for 5th starter right now.

Guzman might be "overrated" if you look at his ceiling several years ago and his production to date.

Injuries will do that. I'm just happy he didn't flame out like a ton of pitching prospects do after a couple physical setbacks.

I thought Guzman looked OK yesterday. Didn't have his best stuff. Gave up a lot of fly balls, and when he's on that doesn't happen. Velocity was excellent. Sinker just a little less sink than he probably wanted, but it's been that way since his last injury and hasn't come back yet. The control was great, though. When he missed, it wasn't badly. And I thought the ump gave up on a couple of his curves that ended in the zone.

He's gonna have to get more groundballs in order to put up some consistent outings. His 2-seamer doesn't have great movement anymore. I worry about him vs. the Phils LHs in his start this weekend.
