Quinn:

If I'm Buffalo, I take him. Losman's still real iffy.

I can almost guarantee the Packers will take Quinn if he's there. They hate Rodgers and have been looking to unload him all offseason.

I may not think Quinn's the greatest QB prospect ever, but right now he ranks as one of the great values in draft history. Oh, and Miami are idiots. Somehow, I know that fool Terry Shea was behind them passing on Quinn. The man has no clue about QB talent---he's the guy who convinced Angelo Jonathan Quinn should be the Bears backup QB. How'd that work out???

Idiotic pick.

He definitely ranks up there behind Leinart dropping to #10 last year.

You guys do realize that Marques Colston was drafted last year, right?

Oh, and with deference to vance, Russell became the #1 pick on the basis of a workout. How'd that work out for Kyle Boller?

I think Quinn's the best QB in this draft. I don't care what kind of arm strength Russell has or how he looked in his personal workout in shorts and a t-shirt. Big deal. Nobody even knew who that guy was until the bowl season his last year in college. He's been a shooting star, but that's only because he was literally nowhere until his last couple games.

The Raiders couldn't deveop a QB to save their lives anyway. Quinn will most certainly be the more successful NFL QB.

What does GB hate about Rodgers? He hasn't gotten to play much...

His attitude has been pretty poor from everything that I have heard and seen from him. I know he hasn't played much, but he looked like the worst QB in the NFL last year when Favre went down against the Patriots. It's a small sample size, but Quinn would be a much better pick than Rodgers.

Don't forget that Rodgers probably would've been a 2nd or 3rd rounder in most years.

Thanks. Seems like he was a waste of money...

You must not pay much attention to college football, Russell has been on people's radars since his freshman year.

So what? We're talking about draft value. Colston never had the potential to make $40 million guaranteed like Quinn would have. Whoever picks Quinn now will literally be saving millions on top of millions of dollars.

Russell became the #1 pick because of the Sugar Bowl. He was a top-10 pick most all season.

Considering I almost got in a fight with a girl at the sox game last night, I would say that this is accurate.

Not anywhere near where he went. Not even close to that level.

Only if he's as good as you think he is, which apparently NFL teams don't.

QB's get paid more at their slots, don't they? A team that picks him at 12 or 13 or whatever is going to pay more money for him than they would for another player at the same spot.

Ginn was a surprising pick, but I don't see why so many people are calling it "amazingly horrible" or whatever. The Dolphins need somebody for a quarterback to throw to. Youth and speed are very much needed in the receiving corps. A rookie QB would be very unlikely to play immediately, and Quinn's greatest trait is his NFL-readiness: If not for that, he'd almost certainly be ranked much lower based strictly on physical gifts and technique. A Trent Green trade seems a foregone conclusion at this point. And with Wes Welker gone, the Dolphins are also in need of a return man. The pick of Ginn, while surprising, makes a lot of sense in my eyes. I can se disagreeing with it, but the degree puzzles me.

It's amazingly horrible in the context that Quinn should have been the pick.

If you can find another person posting that though of "draft value" in that sense when you brought it up, I'd be shocked.

We're talking about on draft day not looking back on the year.

Read what you wrote again, please. You said he was "literally nowhere" until his last couple games, which is completely untrue. I don't even know where you pulled that from, unless you just like playing expert.

What you said was completely false.

Ginn was not the #2 WR in this draft, and 9th overall is way too high to be drafting a return man.

I think it's more than that. Ginn's got great skills, true, but he's still in need of development as a wide receiver. He will be dynamite as a kick returner. But consider that the Bears got a game-changer in that role in the 2nd round. The Dolphins will have to pay top-10 money for it. It's horrible value.

Not saying Ginn won't work out, though. He's a skilled athlete and could be great.

In defense of some of the other guys, I got an email from a friend in Dallas that says with Quinn falling the Cowboys are looking hard at trying to get him. Jones believes the team doesn't have any immediate needs that have to be addressed. They like their receivers, though would like to get younger there. They addressed O-line with signing Davis and safety by signing Hamlin. If they think they can get Quinn, they will.

Russell went from unlikely to come out this year to top QB in the draft in the matter of 4 hours at the Sugar Bowl this year. He wasn't as high as you seem to think he was.
