There is absolutely no chemistry between any of the ESPN guys.

Seriously, it's brutal. Everyone is stumbling over words and staring at each other.

Obviously people who follow college football knew about him - he went to LS-freaking-U. Of course people are going to know about him. What are you going to tell me next, they knew about Brady Quinn too?

Yes I've been following the discussion hence the reason I'm posting. Soul was obviously exaggerating when he said that Russell was "literally nowhere". I don't think Russell was a first round pick before the Sugar Bowl.

And if saying Quinn was #1 before the Sugar Bowl means nothing is absolutely absurd. You're the one bringing up what scouts thought of Russell for the past few years.

You aren't following. I'm saying they knew of his as a big-time draft prospect. Which you apparently didn't.

How can you exaggerate and use the word literally in a sentence. Think about that for a minute.

Quinn being No. 1 before the draft proves that pre-work out draft boards are meaningless. Because Russell wasn't on them at some arbitrary point during the season doesn't mean that scouts were sleeping on him and he just skyrocketed out of nowhere.

Exactly.

Soul, I can't believe you compared Navarre to JMR.

I made the comparison because IMB based his big-time status on those physical attributes. So what? Make a better argument next time for why Russell's a big-time prospect.

John Navarre was a big, strong QB with a huge arm that played at a big school, too. That means nothing in terms of whether the guy is a "Big Time" prospect.

Manning? Vick? These guys were big-time prospects for years & years before they were drafted. That's my idea of a big-time prospect. Russell wasn't close to that level, and honestly? He still isn't.

Can we agree to stop arguing this? I'm not going to come over to your side, I think you're dead wrong and that's not going to change.

There is a HUGE difference between Russell and Navarre, to even use him as any sort of comparison to Russell is ridiculous. You're just digging yourself deeper and deeper here.

You're right that Russell wasn't a No. 1 guy before the Sugar Bowl. But he was leagues ahead of "literally nowhere".

Russell was a beneficary of the hype machine

I'll be surprised if he lives up to expectations.

I don't think there's any doubt that he benefited from the hype machine, what No. 1 pick hasn't?

I don't think he's worthy of the first pick in the draft either, I'm just saying that he's been on people's radars forever.

maybe, but not as a #1....that happened very recently.

I think Johnson was the best #1 pick this year...

"So Brady, what are you going to do now"

What the hell do you expect him to say? I want re-do? Stupid stupid

"I'm going to Disneyland!!!!"

I'm going to the Arena League.

Maybe he's going to live in Roger Goddell's guest house since he is getting to know him so well today.

With the 16th selection in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers take Justin Harrell DT Tennessee...bit of a shocker there.

Hahaha. A bunch of drunk 12-year-old boys wearing Packers gear. And apparently they don't like the pic.

The more I think about it, we're definitely getting Moss now. Cullen Jenkins is going to be a DE now and we do have an open spot at DT. I see KGB and a later pick being moved to get Moss.

Brayton and Burgess are pretty good DEs for Oakland, KGB is very one-dimensional and aging. It just doesn't make alot of sense to me.
