Anyone still willing to give Miller a few more starts? Wind blowing out today or not, he's not a ML pitcher anymore at this point.

I'm amazed that the Cardinals were hitting that 87mph fastball right down the middle of the plate. Miller blows. He's a shell of his former self.

Don't we have a week or so before we need the 5th starter again? Why don't we just DFA Miller, bring up another reliever and keep Pie? That way, Lou can his 7 relievers without taking away a bench spot. Guzman can be recalled when we'll need the 5th starter again

That would be my plan. You're right, the 5th start is not needed until May 1st (a week from Tuesday). The gamble for Miller didn't work-it's not a big deal if the mistake is admitted and corrected. It can become a very big deal if it continues. Release him in the next day or two, and bring up a reliever. Then send down Pie for Guzman on May 1st.

The good news is that Miller will still have a position in the major leagues, albeit it one as the Home Run Derby pitcher.

Aramis is great!

While this may be true, there is absolutely, positively no reason Wade Miller should pitch in another game for this team.

10.54 ERA after today, 2.33 WHIP coming into today - you need to release him immediately.

Weurtz is great!

I would like to acknowledge that I called Miller "done" after his first outing in ST.

Wuertz has been our MVP so far. He and Cotts have been fantastic out of the pen.

Rich Hill might beg to differ. Wuertz has been great, though (as has Cotts, surprisingly).

Do'h...yea definitely Rich Hill.

Absolutely not. The wind was blowing out yesterday and Marquis was fine. The homers that were hit today were bombs and would go out on almost any day! He was putting his pitches on a tee.

Anyone not see that pujols homer coming?

i knew the cards would score, just didn't know if it would be a pujols hr or a pop up in the outfield that would get dropped or lost in the sun

Sadly I think we are still gonna lose 90 games this year.

i'm starting to agree with you. Last year's team was certainly bad enough on paper to lose 90+ games. This year's team should be able to play .500 baseball, but since they're cubs, they won't.

Yet, the Cardinals with largely a collection of crap will win 90 games.
