Bobby Wade... 5 year 15 million dollar deal with the Vikings...

The NFL has now surpassed the MLB in craziness.

Wow..just wow.

Apparently my beloved Saints are about to sign Kevin Kaesvaharn from the Bengals. Anyone know anything about him? He only started 7 games and played in 14, but still had 11 passes defended, 6 INT's and 4 sacks.

Did find this MONSTER hit that he put on somebody.

I know he caught the INT Delhomme threw to lose Carolina the game against Cincy and derail the season. I also know he played in the XFL. That's about it.

LOL. The Vikings apparently were impressed while watching Bobby drop punts & passes against them.

Good nickel DB and a special teams monster. His coverage skills aren't that great from what I have heard, so if you have him as one of your starting safeties, you might suffer a bit.

Well, considering that he had 6 int's in only 14 games and our ENTIRE secondary only had 8 int's the entire season including the postseason, I'm not too concerned about his coverage skills compared to the guys we got now.

Since he was with the Bengals, the key question is how many arrests he's had. :D

Zero actually. The Saints also got their MLB Brian Simmons out of FA. He also had no arrests. The Saints are single handedly taking all their good boys away from them.

Saints pickup TE Eric Johnson from the 49ers. Two years ago he received for over 800 yards with Tim Rattay throwing to him. Let's hope Brees turns him into a pro-bowler. That makes the Saints offense just that much harder to figure out how to defend. We didn't use the TE hardly at all last season.

He is everything Zach Hilton (no relation to Paris) ever wanted to be. Good move by the aints, but their defense probably wont overacheive to the level it did this past year, though.

Adding a playmaker like Kevin Kaesvaharn and adding a solid MLB in Simmons will help considerably. They are still in the running for some of the top CB's still on the market.

I just saw on the ESPN bottom line that Jamal Lewis signed with the Browns. No link yet.

Wow this could really end up changing the draft if they choose not to pick AP and end up taking someone like Johnson or Quinn instead.

Playmaker eh? Here's a little snippet from Nov 28, 2005 from profootballweekly

Kaesviharn, while intelligent and athletic, is not a playmaker, and the feeling around the team is he would be best-suited in a reserve role.

Reserve role for the Bengals? Ouch. He probably lucked into a few picks this year and the team's scheme took advantage of their explosive offense. Kaesviharn does not a defense make.

This is what I was trying to say earlier. I think you're expecting too much out of KK based off a few interceptions, OMC.

Jamal Lewis is still only 27. Im suprised so many believe he's washed up.

He's taken a pounding in his career. Plus his off the field antics scare a lot of people as well. Whatever the reason, I'm glad the Packers passed on him. He's probably a guy that will only average 3.5 YPC for the rest of his career. Sounds a lot like Eddie George.

Rotoworld on the Lewis signing:

Jamal Lewis-RB-Browns Mar. 7 - 9:23 pm et

Browns and Jamal Lewis have agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract.

So much for Adrian Peterson. This is a curious move by Browns GM Phil Savage, primarily because Lewis has averaged 3.47 yards per-carry the last two seasons since leaving jail. Lewis runs tentatively and has poor long speed. A shaky Browns offensive line won't help matters. Willis McGahee could now be on the way to Baltimore in a trade, and Reuben Droughns is headed to the bench or the waiver wire.

Also, I put this in the Bears offseason thread by accident

Jamal Lewis to the Browns link

If I was the Browns, I would have taken Peterson.

Why can't you now? They didn't draft Jamal Lewis

BTW, I would take the QB available, with the diluted RB market and their short lives, getting one of the top 2 would have much more value.

I doubt they'd allocate that kind of resources at the RB position when they have some many other holes to fill. I guess it's possible, though.

I'll agree with that.
