The Return of Rey Rnez (Not to the Cubs)

Our loveable friend, Rey Rnez is in Mariner camp trying to earn a major league job because he found life outside baseball "boring."

It was frustrating and boring," he said of his two years out of the game. "I spent time with my family, took a lot of vacations, tried to relax. But I missed the game. My son and my daughter were saying, 'Daddy, Daddy, when are you going to play again?'

 

"So I told them, 'OK, I'm playing this year.' I'm here. I'm trying."

 

 

And yes, the article has to mention this...

 

He made it to the big leagues for 23 games, batting .164, before the Cubs cut him loose.

 

And yes, it's a slow day when I'm starting threads about Rey R'nez.

Rey made an incredible relay from his knees to gun someone out at the plate. After the game Ozzie made some remark along the lines of "I think we've just seen the second-coming of me."
