Just curious... and I hate to take any pride whatsoever in the Sox World Series, but if the Bears win this weekend, that'll be 8 major professional sports championships since 1991.

I'm sure I'm missing someone, but can any other city top that?

The thing that sucks for me is I don't care about the Bulls. The last team I cared about that was one win away from the championship was the Bears. The Blackhawks were the last to play for a championship, but they never got within one win, they were swept.

I've never actively cheered for a team that won it all. Ever. I had just turned 2 when the Bears won the Super Bowl. The only team I've even had make a championship was Illinois basketball in '05.

Scoop Jackson's Ten Reasons the Bears Will Win

Didn't see this in the past 10 pages.

This article just proves that Scoop is a terrible writer. It's heavily biased towards the Bears obviously, and the entire article is garbage.

I'm also fairly certain Rex never said "When it's all said and done, I will have multiple Super Bowl rings." I'm pretty sure what he said was "If I have multiple Super bowl rings, I will be satisfied with my career," or something to that effect.

No, he actually said it.

Good. I like the confidence. Let's get #1 on Sunday, Rex.

Its that same confidence that had him hucking it downfield against Arizona and New England even though he clearly didn't have it those days.

Oh snap.. especially in Arizona..

It's the same confidence that made him the player he is today, starting in the Super Bowl. I would much rather have a confident, hell I would rather have an arrogant QB, than one too timid to make that statement.

That's why the Colts don't involve much motion in their offense. They are not trying to force a team to react to them; they want to react to it. The key is taking that final move away from Manning before the snap. The Dallas Cowboys, who terminated the Colts' bid for a perfect season at 9-0 with a 21-14 victory Nov. 19 at Texas Stadium, found one way to approach that task

The Cowboys rolled play clocks onto their practice field in preparing for Manning and his high-flying circus act. Bill Parcells' staff had done its research and discovered that with 10 seconds remaining on the play clock, Manning didn't have time to make that final adjustment, especially on the road in front of a hostile crowd

I'm hoping the Bears consider a similar strategy.

I'm sure they will, but like the article says, if the Colts see they are doing that they will start mixing in quick snapping. Since being out of position is worse than not showing Manning the look, the Bears will be forced to back off,

I just got finished watching the NFL network "Road to the Super Bowl" about the Bears. It is outstanding. It will be watched by me over and over. For those who have Comcast On Demand, its under sports-nfl network- superbowl xli-nfc champions.

Many players would kill to have the chance for one. Seeing as we are in this spot very early in his career gives him the opportunity to aim for a higher goal.

How much would it suck to have his career peak here? Not literally, but figuratively. He could still have a great career but never again approach teh Super Bowl.

Don't know if this was posted. They were talking about it on Boers and Bernstein today... Finally, a piece (from outside Chicago) that's actually fair to Rex.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/29/sports/football/29grossman.html?_r=1&ref=football&oref=slogin

MIAMI, Jan. 28 — On one side of the field Sunday will be a quarterback who completed more passes this season than Joe Namath in 1968, for more yards than Roger Staubach in 1977, at a higher percentage than Johnny Unitas in 1970.

He threw more touchdowns passes than Joe Montana in 1981, with fewer interceptions than Terry Bradshaw in 1979, and with a higher passer rating than Len Dawson in 1969.

On the other side of the field will be Peyton Manning.

Okay, so I just downloaded the HD version of the NFC Championship game, and watched almost all of it. I'M SO PUMPED.

Here are some screen shots I took. I'll be posting more throughout the week.

No references to Media Day with the Bears? Colts up next for Media Day.

Tank Johnson received more attention than anyone else. According to the NFL Network, Tank continuously received more than Grossman and Urlacher. When asked, he said he's here for business and is not there for the nightlife or anything.

Deion Sanders is ill that there is no "diva" on Media Day. The players for the Bears were very respectful to the game, their team, and to their opponent.

Rex Grossman said he's excited about being there and it became very real to him when he got to the stadium and saw the Bears and Colts painted in the endzones.

Devin Hester isn't concerned about the fact that the media has put more attention on Manning-Grossman than the importance of starting field position in the SB.

Sometimes you forget that these guys are just human and have some very intense feelings about being there. For some, they have worked many years of their life for this day.

"Rex! Rex! Joe from the Boston Globe. Why do you suck?"

"Jim here from the Tampa Herald. Can you elaborate a little more about how you suck?"

"Joe, San Francisco Chronical. Rex, can you tell us when and how much you will suck this Sunday?"

"Frank - Dallas Morning News. Rex, you talked about going out to dinner with your wife last night. How has your sucking effected her?"
