The media circus is pissing me off. Get your butts on the practice field or in the video room.

The Bears are coming off as just being happy to be there.

Is this your first superbowl?

Um, no.

We showed up 1 day earlier than the Colts. 1 day wasted, IMO.

The Colts didn't practice. Dungy gave them the weekend off to spend time with their families. The Bears practiced in Miami on Monday. No time wasted.

They practiced yesterday. You can't practice or study 24/7. Everybody has to do the media thing. What your hoping for is a surefire way to lose the game with paralysis due to overanalysis.

Yeah, both the Bears and the Colts practiced on Monday-so they are really on the exact same schedule, other than the Bears having had off time in Miami while the Colts did in Indy.

Yeah, this whole when they arrived issue is the biggest non-story in a long time.

I would definitely agree with that. It's not like the Colts arrived on Thursday or anything-after both teams have had a media day and 3 days of practice, nobody will remember where they were a week before on one specific night.

There are still 5 more days till Sunday.

Curse this bye week! Curse it!

After watching ATH and the insanity that is that show, they helped me realize the exact opposite of what they were arguing for. Everything about a victory for the Bears resides on the shoulders of the Offensive Line, Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson. If we can open up the running game and get 120+ yards rushing I really like our chances.

If Grosman attempts less than 20 passes, I like our chances even more. And that has nothing to do with Grossman and everything to do with Ron Turner. Keep running, Ron!

Thanks. I had no idea who he was.

He was forced into retirement because of frequent concussions. I believe he sued the Bears for that, because after his last one, his brain had been damaged to the point where he was unable to read. He had to re-learn how to read. They told him to get back onto the field 1 or 2 weeks after a major concussion I think, and he got another one. I'm not sure if that's exactly how it happened, perhaps someone can elaborate more with the real news.

I know he was also diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma back in 2003. But after treatment, he is now cancer free.

I'm really suprised his wikipedia article makes no mention of the lawsuit. It was a pretty big deal: player successfully suing a major sports franchise and all.

Anyway, he's gone through a lot of problems; it hasn't been easy for the guy. I just think it's important to realize the history between he & the Bears when he starts commenting on Chicago, that's all.

He was one of the first free agent signing I got excited for. They had to give Lewis Tillman 200 plus carries because of his concussions. He started my love for white running backs. Hence, I still think Brock Forsey can be a star in this league.

For Bears fans -on these down and distances, do you run the ball somewhat consistently? Or is it going to require more consistent gains on 1st down?

I don't think it is realistic to expect Grossman to throw less than 20 times. I think we need to run more than pass, but there has to be some type of balance, and the Bears will be forced to throw over 20 times. If we have 65 offensive plays, 37 runs and 28 passes, that is a solid balance for this game, but it depends on the defense. If they put 8 in the box, Turner has to let Rex try to win the game.

Honeslty we probably run more on 2nd and 8 than on 2nd and 6. :x

I don't think we've ever run on 3rd and 4 if the game is still in balance. It pisses me off, but thats the way it is.

It depends on how things are going and the defense, but I would pass more than throw in those bottom two situations, and run more than pass in the top 3.

I cant wait for Sunday. But the more I think about it, the more I'm enjoying the non stop coverage of the Bears and just the thought that the Bears are in the Super Bowl is still one that makes me smile. Im pumped as hell for the game Sunday, but I dont want this all to end because its pretty awesome. That said, Sundays gonna be incredible. Go Bears!

Listening to Boers and Bernstein right now and Zack Zademan and Lawrence Holmes are on and reported Benson wants to be the number next year and that Benson said there's a bunch of actors in the Bears locker room. I would sure like to know who Benson is talking about.

Benson's talking is the only thing about him that bothers me.

Bradley practiced and it seems like he should be good to go on Sunday.

This whole Toub thing is a little odd, but I believe him when he says it's all made up. Sure hope he's back next season.

Obviously it depends big time on situation, but I've noticed the Bears will run a lot on second and long situations. They apparently don't fear having to throw on third down.

That is a classic case for blocking a team from talking to one of your assistants.

The Bears helmets didn't fit on the lions in front of the Art Institute when they tried this morning because of how the cold temperatures effected the material, but they should look pretty sweet when they go up tomorrow:

Apparently Brown got a little emotional today when asked about how it felt not to be able to play.
