Reggie Wayne on the stupidest question he has been asked:

"I was asked what it's like catching a pass from Peyton Manning"

"Well....it's a little like a mop and a little like a puppet but oh boy. Does that answer your question?"

One of my favorite Simpsons quotes ever.

so to answer your question, I don't know.

God, Bill Plaschke is such a stain on sports journalism:

Best question of Media Day comes from the Los Angeles Times' Bill Plaschke, who grills Tank Johnson, asking him if he's gone out to nightclubs since he's been in Miami and if he's sorry for what happened.

"Sorry to who?" asks Tank.

"Sorry to society," says Plaschke.

Johnson then turns his back to Plaschke while the reporter says "no seriously" a couple times.

The silence and tension last for 30 seconds, as none of the 30 or so reporters around Johnson asks another question, waiting for Johnson to say something.

Sorry to society? What? Did Tank kill someone or something? How did the charges against him adversely affect society?

I've never liked Plaschke. He comes off like a windbag. I dunno.....like he's desperate for someone to listen to him.

I understand he's won several journalism awards though. Not my kind of sports journalist I guess.

Tank handled this appropriately. It was a stupid question. Nobody but this guy has ever suggested Tank has "harmed society" by failing to register a few guns in Illinois. There hasn't been a single crime that I know of where Tank has harmed another human being.

Well, to be fair I thought he had a prior assault charge or something, but I'm not sure if that was verbal or physical.

Plaschke, though, asks this question as if he's the morality police. I thought Tank's response was perfect. If only the whole world could turn their backs to Plaschke...

He's comes across as such a whiney, mewling, stuttering, wiener boy on that show. I just want to pound him.

He wins on that show, too. I stopped watching ATH because it was too frustrating seeing these guys making absolutely no valid points on the subject at hand, yet that host keeps ringing them up.

What a terrible show.

Jesus, Bill Plaschke is a tool.

I want more Michael Wilbon.

Skip ATH, block out Kornheiser's mic, and watch PTI for the Wilbon.

At least he makes an attempt to be reasonable. I guess that's the bar for "good sports journalist" these days, LOL.

Who is Merrel Hodge and why is he on ESPN?

He's a former NFL running back or fullback, not sure exactly. He's been with ESPN for as long as I can remember, I believe since he retired sometime in the 90s.

He sued the Bears for playing him when he was injured. Won a pretty good settlement.

Anyway, it's no secret he doesn't like the Bears. He's a total Steelers homer, where he spent most of his career.

I knew he was a Steelers homer, don't have to watch him much to see that. Didn't know about the Bear thing though, interesting.

Thanks. I had no idea who he was.

Thanks. I had no idea who he was.

He was forced into retirement because of frequent concussions. I believe he sued the Bears for that, because after his last one, his brain had been damaged to the point where he was unable to read. He had to re-learn how to read. They told him to get back onto the field 1 or 2 weeks after a major concussion I think, and he got another one. I'm not sure if that's exactly how it happened, perhaps someone can elaborate more with the real news.

I know he was also diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma back in 2003. But after treatment, he is now cancer free.

I'm really suprised his wikipedia article makes no mention of the lawsuit. It was a pretty big deal: player successfully suing a major sports franchise and all.

Anyway, he's gone through a lot of problems; it hasn't been easy for the guy. I just think it's important to realize the history between he & the Bears when he starts commenting on Chicago, that's all.

The media circus is pissing me off. Get your butts on the practice field or in the video room.

The Bears are coming off as just being happy to be there.

Is this your first superbowl?

Um, no.

We showed up 1 day earlier than the Colts. 1 day wasted, IMO.
