I was playing Gears of War yesterday and some chump was telling me that Brady was tied for best QB of all time with Montana, and he was about to take the spot entirely for himself. Naturally, I told him that Brady isn't even the best active QB, and he immediatly lambasted me when I suggested Manning was a much better QB.

 

This victory is just throwing irony all over the place for me.

Manning is a better QB stats-wise but him saying Brady is better than Manning is the same thing as saying Montana is better than Marino. A lot of people have QB's like Elway/Montana/Bradshaw/etc. as better than Marino because they won Super Bowl(s) and Marino didn't. But if you just look at the stats you won't get an argument that Marino is the best ever.

Although the Bears are my favorite team, the Colts are my second favorite and I loved this game. I thought it was over near the end of the first half, but the long drive before halftime gave me hope even though it only resulted in a field goal. The second half was the best I've seen the Colts look in a long time. Hopefully the critics that say Manning can't beat New England in the postseason will shut their mouths now.

 

Although I have to root for the Bears in the Super Bowl, I won't be at all disappointed if the Colts win. More than anything else I'm looking forward to a Super Bowl that lives up to the hype regardless of who wins. I see this matchup as a win-win situation for me. :D
