A lot of people are now projecting that Quinn may snowball down to 9th, though.

It makes sense if you think about it though. If he falls past 2 because of Adrian Peterson, a lot of the teams in the 3-9 ranges aren't looking to draft quarterbacks. Maybe Minnesota at 7, but from what I've heard, Cleveland won't be taking one, and neither will Tampa Bay. Arizona doesn't need one, and Washington isn't in the market for one apparently.

They should. Seems like Quinn would be a good fit for the offense too.

i thought campbell looked okay enough to get a shot next year.

I think he was talking about Tampa drafting Quinn, not Washington.

i think tampa is married to simms at this point, too.

For reasons I can't understand. I've never been very impressed by Simms. Draft Quinn, let Simms mentor Brady next year and then start Quinn in 08.

As a T.B. fan I hope we take either Calvin Johnson or the LT from Wisconsin (I can't remember his name) Our line is garbage right now and for the most part our whole team is. The D is old and starting to wear down. I think we need a playmaker like Johnson to go with Cadillac and give Simms a good target to throw the ball to.

As a Carolina fan, I'm totally in favor of Tampa continuing to play Simms and passing on Quinn in the draft this year.

Don't worry, even if Tampa does take Quinn I'm sure Troy Smith will be available with your pick. :D

It's not even so much that I want Quinn, although I do - I just definitely do not want a division rival to have him. :D

I think he'll be a pretty good player, but will need talent around him to excel.

Either of those picks would be good and help your team quite a bit. I'm just not positive Simms is good enough nor will be healthy enough to get the ball to a guy like Calvin.

Al lot of people have us taking Greg Olsen. As talented as that boy is, and boy is he talented, I don't see us picking him up.

I wouldn't be surprised if we take a WR someone in the middle of the draft. Anthony Gonzalez? Not a burner, not huge, but has great hands, runs great routes and overall is just a nice player. Everyone heaped praise on Ginn, but he probably was their best receiver.

You can only ignore a position for so long, before you realize "oh crap, we need a certain player." You can't "just find a impact TE" as Angelos has insulated, by passing on how many TE last yr?

The Bears do their best drafting, in the 2nd rd and beyond. They can't figure out this 1st rd for the laugh of them (outside of Brian Urlacher). So it wouldn't surprise me if the Bears trade out of the 1st rd, to get some extra picks.

But if the Bears stay at their current spot, I can't see them "forgetting" TE again this yr. And while 29 yrs of age isn't OLD, per se, in football, Clark is closer to being done then being helpful. At this stage Clark is a blocking TE, who can stretch the field, periodcially. That's not a bad thing, but, IMO, the Bears can't afford going into 2007 with Reid and Gilmore as a your backup TE. I like to believe that if Olsen is there(and presumably he will be the BPA) the Bears would have to jump to the heavens above to get an impact TE. I mean whether it is Miller/Olsen in the 1st rd, or Chandler in the 2nd rd, the Bears can't ignore the TE any longer.

And personally, if Grossman is to stay in Chicago, I like the Bears to give Grossman more offensive weapons to work with.

Anyone want a 3 year starter 230lb MLB with 11 tackles a game in the SEC who runs a 4.37?

My bud Patrick Willis ran a 4.37 and a 4.38 at Pro Day yesterday. Boo-ya!

He has also never been arrested, isn't a thug, earned a degree in 3 years, is humble, and has never been suspected of murdering anyone.

I think this solidifies him as a top 15 pick. Rams, Niners, Bills, and Panthers are all interested.

OMFG - 4.37 as a LINEBACKER?

That's it - I want this guy. He could be the Julius Peppers of linebackers - freaky athleticism.

Better trade up.

I really want the Rams to draft this guy, but I dont think they will. They just brought in Chris Draft to fight with Chiller for the 3rd LB spot. They should have signed a DT and drafted Willis, but I dont see that happeneing I see them taking Okoye.

If they want him, they will. Carolina always gets their man (witness trading down when they wanted Gamble and knew he'd fall, and taking about 30 seconds to submit their DeAngelo pick last April).

Well, I can't see him getting past Carolina at 14. The teams that appear to have the most need for him are the Rams, Bills, and Panthers.

Interesting anecdote, I found out about his 4.37 last night because my roommate is a former player and current law student with me who knows Patrick pretty well. Willis, who lives in the apartment next to ours, came knocking on the door last night about 9 and he had a big grin and we were like "well how'd you do!?" and he said "Alright....ran a 4.37!"

Tremendous character as well as a tremendous player. He WILL be a superstar in the NFL. He'll be like a Ray Lewis without the thuggishness and without the suspicion that he killed someone.

49er's have shown interest. I really think that is where he is going. They need an OT bad but I don't think Levi Brown is worth that high of pick. San Fran was also hot after A. Thomas in FA, so this makes sense for them.

I guess I'd be happy either way, but I love stud linebackers and covet Willis. If he falls, I'd bench/trade Tinoisamoa, move Spoon and stick Willis in the middle.

Just went and talked to him at his apartment a few minutes ago, and he was like "man, I'm not even sure if I'm gonna be a first rounder ya know?"

Crazy.

Ask him how he'd like to play in Chicago next year...I'm gonna call Angelo and demand he trade up. :D

A linebacker who runs sub-4.4, has a clean record and was extremely productive in college, will be drafted in the first round.

cleat chasing is so high school

Not really cleat chasing when you've known someone for years and they live next door to you. We were in the same athletic program for a couple of years together.

A bit off topic, it is fun to look at a collegiate athletic gym and see everyone working out. You can really tell what sports people play just by looking at them. As a baseball guy I felt so puny next to the football guys...although imagine how the golf guys felt.

i don't think that you're a cleat chaser, but other than reiterating the fact that you know a football player, what are you trying to accomplish with this post?
