So how bad are the Bears gonna beat the Rams? I think we'll (the Rams) will lose 31-3, or something embarrassing like that.

That bites. I didn't even hear about the hamstring injury until yesterday. But I do think we have suitable replacements for him. And the defense has still been doing well recently despite the lack of pass rush and rush defense, so we'll see.

I dont understand, we have 3 weeks left, plus a bye week in the first round coming..........hamstring woulden't take 4 weeks to heal?

I'd say it would take a solid two weeks to get better, and that'd give him time to practice.

So...we still need a safety, right? Tony Parrish was recently cut by the 49ers. Any interest in bringing him back? He's a big hitter and can stop the run.

i believe he was just picked off waivers by the cowboys.

Unless Grossman plays anything like the first 5 games of the season, we're done with this news

Lets not get crazy.

I don't think Griese can save us from having no Tommie in the middle, either.

We get into the playoffs, where there will be good teams pounding the ball up the middle-------we're in deep crap without Harris.

I think we just watched our Super Bowl dreams go down the toilet.

a team capable of pounding the ball up the middle would have had success against the bears even with Harris.

Maybe, but even more so without Harris, who has consistantly been drawing double teams from the O-Line all year long. Not to overreact more, but the entire D is likely to feel a ripple effect from losing Harris

Can someone answer this? Maybe with a medical background?

Because it's a severe pull and might even be a torn hamstring. Not just the standard pulled hamstring.

Without so much as a sneer, Brian Griese declined to answer how many snaps Lovie Smith had allotted him Thursday at practice.

"If Lovie wanted you to know that, he'd probably tell you," Griese said calmly. "That's why practices are closed."

Of course, that implied a good reason existed to close practice.

So Griese was asked a different way whether he would work any more with the No. 1 offense before Monday's game against the St. Louis Rams than he usually does.

"I don't know what part of that answer you didn't understand," Griese said matter-of-factly.

You do not need to belong to the NFL chapter of Mensa to understand what is going on at Halas Hall.

No matter how safe Smith's rhetoric has sounded, Grossman will be on the clock from the first snap against the Rams. For the first time all season, the Bears also will come prepared to use Griese if Grossman's errors stymie the offense for the third straight game

Sounds like a bad first half on Monday night and Rex could be out.

Well we're sure going to need some offense. Because with those starters out Monday? You can bet the Rams are going to put up some serious points.

I'm worried we aren't even going to have the ball enough to score.

I thought Harris was the only one out for sure. I thought Vasher and and Todd Johnson were both just questionable.

Tommie or no Tommie, I have a hard time seeing anyone putting up "serious points" against the Bear defense.

Really? I think we're on the precipice of a minor defensive collapse. Look at the increasing number of rushing yards we're giving up each week, then factor in the Harris injury, Vash being slowed with a hamstring (or out).

I hope you're right, but I don't like the trend I'm seeing here. Remember last year when starters began getting injured at the end of the year? The defense really started to suffer.

I just left the Edward Jones Dome and saw that the Saint Louis Rams Career Restoration Clinic for Rex Grossman is ready for Monday night. My stupid Rams are more than ready to help him turn it around.

To be honest, you don't even need him this week. Just snap it straight to the backs and run every down. The Rams can't stop anyone.... I mean ANYONE. Look for the Rams to attempt to force Rex to beat them while they stick 11 in the box but still give up 200+ on the ground. :P

The Rams will show up for this one, at least the offense will. Bulger called out some teammates so a fire has been lit under their you know whats.

This game has the makings of an upset. Here's to hoping for an exciting game with nobody getting hurt.

Go Rams!

Rams board for anyone wanting the opposition's view point

I know we all remember Harris' supurb level of play early in the season but his play has trailed off since then (though I doubt anyone could sustain that level of play for the course of the season). He was still playing at a high level but he wasn't playing at a level where we'll suffer a total defensive collapse without him in the game.

I'd also like to add that I'm not as worried about the run D as others are. The Bears still rank #5 in the NFL in rushing defense according to DVOA. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef.php

We have a solid DT rotation, in any event and while I think this will hurt our ability to get to the QB, I doubt we'll see a major change in our defensive performance.

Part of the thing about the Bears run D, and I believe that someone said this in a Bears thread recently, is that the Bears give up most of the running yards between the 20's. They lock down in the red zone.
