Sounds like Tommie Harris' knee injury is not serious:

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/159954,CST-SPT-bearnt05.article

The Bears' belief that Tommie Harris did not suffer a serious knee injury was proven true Monday. An MRI revealed the Pro Bowl defensive tackle suffered only a sprained left knee, and indications were that it was to the medial collateral ligament. Harris told sources he expects to miss only a couple of games, and coach Lovie Smith said it's not season-ending. Whether that means he will return in the regular season, which has four games remaining, is undetermined.

Whew. If we get Tommie back by game 15, he should be fine for the playoffs.

Vasher's injury also not serious.

Still, we will be thin this week on D, and Stl. can run the ball. Not sure how they can stop Jackson, but they better figure it out.

Thank god, that's TERRIFIC news about Tommie Harris. :D :D :D

and a possible blessing in disguise.

no doubt, he can come back fresh and dominate.

Rex snaps out of it, and the defense keeps rolling. Griese gets some playing time, but it's in garbage time.

Bears 34

Rams 13

There, that's all the optimism I have energy for.

The game on the 17th against the Bucs will be a noon kickoff. Fox decided on the Eagles/Giants game.

Man am I sick of hearing how good the Cowboys are. They needed a last second field goal to beat the Giants...a team the Bears beat by 18 a few weeks ago.

Go Saints!

Seriously.

And the Giants were actually playing well when the bears played them, not on a 4 game losing streak

Tommie Harris will miss Monday's game with not only a knee injury, but also a mild hamstring injury.

Nathan Vasher is only questionable right now, though.

ChicagoBears.com[/url]"]Early in the third quarter, Brad Johnson’s rush for no gain was switched to a Tank Johnson sack. Late in the game, Adewale Ogunleye was credited with a sack because a review of the tape showed that he forced Tarvaris Jackson to fumble one yard before the line of scrimmage and not after a two-yard gain as originally indicated.

The two additional sacks pushed the Bears’ total to five for the game and 30 for the season. The five sacks matched Chicago’s season high set in a 37-6 Sunday night win Oct. 1 over the Seattle Seahawks.

Asked about the need for him to play better against the St. Louis Rams on Monday night or face losing his job to Brian Griese, Grossman acknowledged the hottest sports topic in town.

"Definitely, it's getting to the point where it's pretty critical that I start the way I'm capable of playing,'' Grossman said.

Looks like Rex realizes that Griese may be an option, even if Lovie doesn't say so publicly.

Mac, Jurko, and Harry on ESPN 1000 just reported Tommie Harris might miss the rest of the season with a "serious hamstring injury". Sort of conflicting from what we've heard a couple days ago. They also said Harris was going to Dallas to see a specialist about the hamstring.

Lovie Smith said the injury is worse than they thought and will be out the season and possibly longer

Damn it.

Season being regular season, or playoffs too?

But on Thursday Smith said the hamstring injury was more severe than the knee sprain and that Harris was slated to go to Dallas to see a specialist. He added that Harris could miss the remaining four regular-season games and perhaps even the playoffs.
