A St. Louis player had touched it already (accidentally). At that point the bears can pick it up and get a free run....basically the worst case scenario is the ball is the bears where it was touched, best case scenario he runs it for a TD

The worst case scenario is that a Rams player never did touch the ball and Worrell costs the Bears the game.

 

There's nothing to be gained from it, but plenty to lose.

 

And that's two weeks in a row that he's done that.

 

Yeah that's what I thought. It looked real similar to the OK-USC national title game a few years ago when that guy on Oklahoma made a bonehead play and touched the ball and USC returned it for a TD.
