KU beats Nebraska by 53. (92-49) HUGE game at K-State on Monday. We've never lost at K-State's current home arenda. (33-0, I believe).

Might want to check your math there, that's only a 43 point win. Not that a 43 point win is anything to scoff at.

I mis-typed the score. 92-39. 53 point win.

Ah. Guess I could have looked it up on ESPN. :D

53? i hope he subbed early. that kind of win could get some bad blood going.

probably not a concern against Nebrasks hoops.

I have no idea when subs came in, though, I was just checking score updates online. I think everyone on KU's roster.

Nebraska was embarrassed by a wide margin by someone else in Big 12 play too. I remember that the game was on ESPN and the 'Huskers went like 12 minutes without scoring a FG. How that team managed to beat Creighton, I'll never know.

That was also Kansas, the first time they played.

Since Mizzou has won 2 in a row, it's time for crazy optimist theories to get them to rise up the standings. By wednesday if Tech loses at Texas, aTm wins at OSU, and Mizzou beats OU in Columbia then Mizzou is in 5th place in the B12. I guess that's how bad the Big 12 is.

Nice win for the Cats today. 8-4 in the Big 12, up by 2 games on 5th place with 4 games to go. Win the one's we're supposed to win, and I'm thinking we're a lock for the tourney.

i'm reading elsewhere that a FLA player punched a vandy student during the celebration. anyone see this?

Yeah, I heard about that, but I don't know who did it.

From what I can tell, it was a really bad situation. Some Vanderbilt student shoved Corey Brewer from behind. Good of Brewer to not retaliate.

I didn't see the game so I don't know what happened.

However, the local sports coverage had been talking about a lot of trash talking taking place between the two teams. In fact, the media seemed to be fueling it with a bunch of interviews with players on both teams talking trash.

I believe Vandy is unbeaten in their building against #1 ranked teams.

Joakim Noah and Vandy's coach were ready to throw down earlier - it was a very strange situation. Vandy is 6-6 against #1 all time.

all i saw was the coach not giving him the ball. was there more to it than that?

Yeah, that's the one. And yeah, Joakim doesn't seem like the nicest guy around.

Can someone explain to why the coach was over in that area?

i guess vandys court has the coaches in the endzone. during the pregame, phelps was saying the coaches might as well leave and get something to eat as its tough to coach games with that setup.

It's not really clear on that video but this is how it happened:

Noah reaches for the ball so he can inbound it, the coach slapped his hands away and refuses him the ball, Noah looks at the refs with the WTF look then he slaps the ball away.

He probably shouldn't have slapped the ball away, but I don't know why the coach was holding on the the ball and refusing to give it to him.

In general I think Noah gets way over-hyped, both as a player and as an ass, due the his overly emotional play. He's an easy target.

Stanford up on Oregon 40-34 at the half in Northern California.

Huge 88-69 win for Stanford. They needed to pull off an upset in one of their last few games here. Their resume is looking better and better for the tournament.

Nice win for Depaul! Who continues to make their tourney push with a 75-62 win vs. USF. They are know 16-11 and 7-6 in the Big East. Just have to keep on winning. ND is next...

is that a ripoff of the "I-L-L!" chant?

i don't know for sure who started it so i could be wrong.

From what I remember, both schools claim that they started it first, I don't think anyone really knows.

Everything I've heard says Mizzou started it, and Illinois stole it and tried to claim it as their own.

they probably won it from them.

Well it's mainly our football chant, so I don't see how they could've won it.

He is, but for the most part its never really chanted at basketball games, only at football games when Mizzou scores points.

I know, so was my statement.

Northwestern's offense is not looking very smooth at all today. Add that to their dismal shooting and you get a poor first half.

At least they're only down 1, though.

ND takes care of Cincinnati, 76-64, moving into a tie for that pivotal 4th spot (top 4 teams get a bye in the Big East tourney) and get their first 20-win season since the Sweet 16 year in 2002-03 - their first 20-win regular season in who knows how long.

Next is a pivotal game against DePaul. A win would clinch a winning conference season. On top of that, ND should have revenge on their minds.
