IU with a big 83-46 final exhibition win. DJ White had 17 points, while attempting 3 FGs (3-3). Got to the line 14 times, knocking down 11, but he did have 6 TOs. JC transfer, Lance Stemler, looks like he's gonna be a huge addition. 16 points off the bench, after 12 the previous tune up. He is 10-15 from the field in the 2 games, including 7-11 behind the arc. Freshman Armon Bassett, with his 2nd amazing ball-handling game. Followed up an opening 16 pt, 6 assist/2 TO game with no points last night, but 10 assists with just 2 TOs. Wilmont was again strong, and may lead the team in scoring this year.

We start for real on Monday in the NIT vs. Lafayette!

I can't wait to see them in action on Monday. Do you think moving Stemler to the starting lineup is the right move? Sampson doesn't think that either D.J. or Allen can guard a player well on the wings, so he is planning on going with Stemler as a starter. I think it is a good idea also-if D.J. gets double-teamed down there, Stemler can be a three point spot up shooter and have his defensive impact.

Yeah, it's a good move. Unless the matchup dictates it (i.e. 2 post players on the opposition), this team is not constructed to have Allen and DJ on the floor at the same time. I'd love for Mike White to join the group and give IU a 4-man frontcourt rotation. I know Sampson is not Davis, but I can't handle Wilmont at the 4, for 30 minutes/game.

Let's beat Butler and have IU beat Lafayette so that Irish-Hoosiers rivalry can be renewed, since you guys wouldn't schedule us this year.

UC Davis is playing in the CBE Classic this weekend. They will face Georgia Southern on Sunday with the winner likely getting Duke in the next round (they play Columbia). The game with Duke would be aired nationally on ESPN 2. Frankly, it would be cool to get waxed by Duke on national television.

Yes, I plan on watching my alma mater (Holy Cross) get crushed by Duke on ESPN in November.

Mizzou up 38-26 over Army at half. I don't know what to expect from this team, but Stefon Hannah is gonna be a stud.

I'm also very impressed that freshman Keon Lawrence is playing just 12 days after he fractured his foot and was set to be out for 4-6 weeks.

Missouri decided to stop keeping it real. 13-4 run for Army and it's a 3 point game.

Synder was fired last year wasn't he?

Yup. Mike Anderson from UAB is the new head coach. I love the hiring, and I think within 2-3 years we'll see Mizzou in the tournament.

Mizzou holds on to win 67-58 to improve to 2-0. Tomorrow they take on Stetson.

Ball State obliterates Northern Colorado 81-42. The Bears only managed 18 first-half points. It's only one game against a crappy team, but Ronny Thompson has his team playing good hard-nosed D, and we actually have depth! Imagine that!

So Arkansas won their opener versus SEMO, 92-52. Freshman SG Patrick Beverley, from many posters' neck of the woods in Chicago, scored 29 on 11 of 13 shooting, including 6 of 7 from 3 point range.

I still think this team is a top 25 team and will be better than last season's, even with the loss of a fantastic player in Ronnie Brewer and two other double-digit scorers in Eric Ferguson and Jonathan Modica. A true drive-and-dish point and better outside shooters are a better complement to the extremely deep frontcourt than the slashers that contributed much of the scoring last season. The defense looks better, as well.

OU's women's team begins their march to the first of their back-to-back-to-back national championships today versus a good depaul team.

Zook has coached in the NFL and Florida, one of the best football schools in D-1A. Wainwright came from a podunk school in NC (Asheville? it doesn't matter), and hasn't done the same things Zook has recruiting wise. UI is one of the worst football programs right now, and he has brought recruits in. Every Depaul coach the last ten years has had no trouble recruiting.

DePaul got SKUNKED :wall:

Bradley 13-25 from 3. That's the thing about that shot, if it falls you have a good chance of winning.

I think I'll like your Big East talk much more during basketball season.
