How did Oakton look?

Hey had a kid throwing in the 90's. We beat them 7-5, and 2-0. Overall, they were probably one of the better teams we played, we just played really well against them.

I think that kid throwing in the 90s was Cedric Redmond (Cubs draftee), which is why I asked.

Yeah, we hit him pretty hard. I think he gave up 3 runs against us in 3 innings.

Mota was a hell of an Post-deadline August pickup for Minaya.

In 18 games with the Mets:

18 IP

10 H

2 ER

5 BB

19 K

1.00 ERA

Of course he starts to lose all concept of the strikezone as soon as I write this post.

Mota looks like he is healthy again. His velocity seems to be back to where it was in 04.

About 30-35 minutes north.

Do you attend any of their games?

I'm just a fan of IHSA baseball in the area as well as some of the local colleges.

Did you ever get a chance to see Mike Bowden pitch?

I'm not surprised at all that a random conversation about juco baseball broke out during a game of this amazing theater.

Yeah, I watched him out in Aurora at the end of the year. I watched Joe Benson a couple of times last year.

I remember when I hit Bowden in the back with a pitch. Yeah, he is going to be in the big leagues. Im hearing he is being compared to David Cone.

Couple of my teammates played with Bowden. They said he has made over 1 Million already. I never faced him when he pitched, but he just dominated high school baseball in the area. Anytime you throw 94-97 with a knuckle-curve at 77, you're going to dominate.

ahahahaha, according to Tim McCarver:

runner on 1st & 3rd, 2 outs > runner on 2nd & 3rd, 2 outs

Uhh....

What exactly was his ingenious reasoning for this..?

The thing that separates Bowden is his maturity both mentally (baseball IQ) and physically. He was built like a man at 17 and threw strikes with all 3 of his pitches (FB, curve, slider).

Can we nuke both of these teams and just decalre Detroit the WS champs ???

Frankly, I'm not a fan of the city of Detroit either. Can we just get rid of all three (the Tigers can move to Lansing and I'd be cool with them winning the WS).

Of course, if I am getting a say in the matter, I'd have preferred the Cubs to have won the last 98 World Series.
