Please do not refer to them as the cutsie "Cards"

If the Cubs were in the playoffs (hold on............hahahahahah ahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahaha) would the St. Louis (sorry....hahahahahahahahahahahaha) message boards have a game thread that says "Cubbies at (Team that will win dramatically on historic Cubs Miscue)"?

I'm not pulling for either team. I'll be pulling for whichever team wins the ALCS. Hopefully this series goes seven games so the winner doesn't get a break before the WS.

While I'm no lover of the Mets, I will NEVER root for the Cardinals...EVER!

I could root for the Mets, because they are a team built on great offense and good pitching. They didn't put all their eggs in the pitching basket. If they win, Hendry might put some value in actually having a lineup that can score runs.

Yeah. I was wishing all season the Rockies would win the World Series so Hendry would try to put together a team that loved Jesus. Even though we would suck, that would be pure comedy.

More likely, Hendry will credit all the Latinos for them winning and bring back Neifi Perez and Jose Macias, sign Pedro Feliz, and acquire Ramon Ortiz and Esteban Loaiza for the pitching staff.

Well, that will just hasten the Hendry exit, which would ultimately be a good thing.

So does this mean Carpenter starts Game 1? Why do I have this growing feeling that the Cardinals are going to snake into the World Series?

Tim Kurkjian (sp?) said the Cardinals were gong to stick with the rotation they set before the series. Weaver will go in Game 1 tomorrow.

New rule: Teams that start Jeff Freaking Weaver in game 1 of a playoff series are not allowed to go to the World Series.

Sounds good to me.

His former teams aren't doing well...except the Tigers...

Angels, Dodgers, Yankees...all = out. I only hope the same holds true for the Tigers and Cardinals.

Or teams that only win 83 freaking games in the regular season and almost choked away an 8.5 game lead on September 20 with 13 games to go.

ETA: At least the Tigers worked the whole second half to blow their lead and still finished with 95 wins.

Weaver pitched a pretty good outing against the Padres the other night.

Weaver still has value in his right arm. He would be a gamble, but a gamble I would be willing to take.

Chan Ho Park had a few good outings in Petco this year against bad offenses (the Cubs included) and I certainly don't want him.

Man I need to gamble with you.

Seconded.

All fastballs mostly low and away and one bad slurve. I don't know how Weaver can throw a strike while rushing and being off-balance at the same time.

lol, I have that same problem. I am always rushing my body toward the plate.
