Hinrich's "cheap" play on Wade was a subject of discussion on ESPN's 1st and 10. Of course, Skip Bayless, being the Chicago hater that he is says that Hinrich should be at least fined, if not suspended, and that Kirk is known for being a dirty player. Absolutely no mention of the Posey play on Deng. Once again, nice job by ESPN to not mention important facts in stories.

I don't know what happened during Bayless' brief time in Chicago as a sports writer, but something must have happened to make him hate the city so much.

He was run out of town in about 8 months wasn't he? That probably pissed him off.

Did anyone catch Skiles comments about the Posey incident? He said he couldnt really comment on it, but he knows how he would have handled this, basically insinuating that he would not have blamed any Bull for jumping in and knocking Posey out. Also on WSCR today they had the Heat announcer, and this idiot tried saying that it wasnt really as bas as it looked, that if Deng hadnt fallen so hard to the ground, nothing would have been done about it....Umm ok the reason he fell so hard to the ground was because Posey just about took his damn head off. Oh and screw ESPN.

Considering Chicago has put up with the likes of Mariotti for years, when you get run out of town in 8 months you *KNOW* you're an idiot.

Absolutely ridiculous. How do these people have jobs?

I hate ESPN even more than the Heat for refusing to cover the Posey story, which is the REAL STORY, and not Hinrich's obviously accidental hurting of Wade.

Reading the responses before I saw the video, I thought it would be worse than it actually was.

I hadn't seen it either but that's a pretty deliberate slam to the ground while Deng was up in the air completely exposed. I have no problem with a hard foul going for the ball, but he didn't even attempt to get the ball. went for the neck, then grabbed the shoulder and threw him down.

short of a football tackle, I'm not sure how it gets much worse.

I'm not trying to say it was clean, it was dirty and I understand the feelings considering Posey's past and who got fouled. That said, I don't see any throw down on Posey's part.

are you looking at the same video as I am? Deng is coming straight down after the initial foul then his legs suddenly come out from under him. look at the video at about 1:08. whys does Posey's left leg kick out, other than to gain leverage to slam Deng down? why does he follow through with the right arm to the point where it almost hits the hardwood?

it's a blatant slam to the ground.

Yes, I'm watching the same video. Posey nearly clotheslines him, but I don't see the malicious follow through. You're convinced otherwise. I won't try to sway you though, it's a trivial detail since we both agree it was an unnecessary and dirty foul.

After that video I'm firmly convinced that I want to face the Heat in the playoffs. We'd sweep their asses out of town and humiliate James Posey in the process.

FYI, Bulls are currently the 3-seed, having passed Orlando this week. If the playoffs started today they'd face Indiana, and the Central would once again have all 5 of its teams in the playoffs. (Every team in the Central has a better record than anyone in the Atlantic and 3 of the 5 teams in the Southeast.)

Actually, the Bulls are the 5 seed right now, despite having the 3rd best winning percentage. If the playoffs started today they'd be playing the Cavaliers, and the Cavs would have HCA. It's such a stupid rule that the division winners get the top 3 seeds.

They don't anymore. The rules have changed. The division winners still get in automatically, but they're now seeded by record. Stern changed the rule after the "let's tank to face Memphis rather than the Clippers" fiasco last year.

That rule change only affects the top three records in the conference.

It will be interesting to see where the Cavs are at at the end of January.

No, the Bulls would draw the Raptors, who are currently the 4 seed. The Bulls and Cavs are essentially tied at the moment, too. Both 2 games back of the Pistons.

Ah. Well that changes things a bit.

The Bulls would own the Raps in the playoffs.

I knew I should've trusted ESPN's page completely.

I see the same thing you did. Dirty foul and clothesline but no follow through.

As for the reason 1st and 10 focused on Hinrich it's because it's Dwayne Wade who was injured and he's the media darling.
