.....and that's why having a lame duck interim manager would've been okay.

Yeah, it was a great idea wasn't it? Not as good as having Wood continue to pitch but brilliant just the same.

If Z is seriously injured I demand that heads roll effective TODAY. This is completely intolerable.

Nah. Rick Morrisey told me all the doubting of Dusty is what injured Z today.

To be honest, he didn't look that hurt. He kinda just had O'Neal and Dusty come out and Dusty took the ball. Something must have been bothering him before the start and Dusty let him come out and pitch anyways

Seriously, though, you're absolutely right, but there is no one at any level of this organization that would take action. Hendry won't fire Dusty, and MacPhail won't fire either of them.

Which is even more inexcusable that they'd value a Cy Young chase to let an already overworked arm-and your last, best pitching asset to boot-go out and throw when something wasn't right. O'Neal should be fired right after the game ends if that's the case, and so should Rothschild and Baker.

And the Trib won't fire MacPhail.

In a weird way, im happy that his back is stiff.

Give him a little time off in a lost season in which Dusty has been killing him.

That's good news. Even still, if he felt it before the game, someone needs to be held accountable for inexcusably pitching him today (unless Z himself said nothing about it because he wanted to pitch).

I'd rather they give Dusty a little time off (like, say, forever). But since Hendry is too stupid and/or stubborn to see that a change is needed now, giving Z time off is the next best thing.

I agree. I hope he is out for the season with something rather than an arm injury. Sadly I thought it was obvious in the first inning today something was wrong.

I doubt Z told anyone if it was stiff before the game-with his personality, there is no way he lets anyone know-he is just too competitive for that.
