What the heck...the one time Baker doesn't double switch and of course it's Theriot.

Where would you have suggested a double switch? Mateo was fine at the end of the inning-and you certainly don't double switch when the 9 spot was just up, as it just was.

What I'm saying is that Baker usually does a double switch and if it was Perez hitting he would be playing second right now.

Ouch, Everett had a good swing on the foul and he had Weurtz down.

Perez would not have been put in the game in this situation..even Dusty knows you don't move the pitcher from 9th to 7th when you have the 2-3-4 hitters coming up-I don't think he's ever done anything that idiotic (with the possible exception of the 9th as a defensive replacement only)

Haha even when the baseball gods let us enjoy an exciting game despite being 18 games under .500, they still end up pulling the rug out from under us...

Cubs bumping everybody again for the off day Thursday with Z insisting on going on normal rest.

I love how 24-year-olds are the most qualified to determine when they're ready.

It won't be long before Dusty plays the "we owe it to the other contending teams to play our best players" card. :x

Too bad Dusty doesn't know who the best players are.

Are the Astros still in the playoff picture?

Did Pagan play Everett's triple really poorly or was it just me? Didn't think there was anyway that was going for more than a double, but Pagan ran into the wall on a ball that hit 15 feet up.

It was Murtons fault he didn't make that play.

Nice play by Taveras.

You suck, Wuertz.

Don't blame Weurtz..blame Dusty who kept him in the game.

What do you mean by kept him in the game? He faced what, three batters? It's not Dusty's fault that Wuertz couldn't get people out.

Who put Pagan in the 3 hole there? Oh that's right, Clemens never gives up homers so we had to play SPEED.

with how high it was, he had to venture back there in case it came down in his glove, but he has to recognize sooner and get away from the wall.

of course he over ran the ball, so even if it came down without hitting the wall he would have missed it.

Dusty had the talk with him a couple of days ago about how he has to be the horse and the ironman because he's the ace of the staff and now Maddux is gone.

Not that Z wasn't already an ironman, with the most pitches thrown in MLB.
