This is just a thought i had so dont attack me for it, and i doubt it will happen but here it goes:

The O's are shopping Tejada. Ronny hasn't been hiting well at all and is showing almost no patience at the plate. The Yankees are looking for another bat and a SP. Therefore, this is what I propose:

Cubs get Miguel Tejada

Yankees get Greg Maddux and Todd Walker

Orioles get Ronny Cedeno, Shawn Chacon, and prospects from the Cubs and Yankees.

We get Tejada, and he helps the offense, and helps our chances for next season. The Yankees get their bat in Walker who is ver versatile, which is what they were looking for when they tried to acquire Betemit. They also get Maddux to help their rotation. The Orioles dump Tejada, and get a pitcher in the process who could help out (yes, his stats are terrible, but then again, the O's staff isn't exactly great either). However, one of the few snags this deal would have is that the Orioles won't take just anyone for Tejada, obviously. A Marmol or a Tabata might have to be thrown in there. Then there would be the arguement of how much salary will be taken on by the aforementioned teams involved in the deal.

I don't know. I'm just thinking aloud here, and maybe it's very wishful thinking.

Todd Walker would be a good match for NY as Cano is down with a hamstring injury. I don't know what the Cubs could get for him though. Maddux would get eaten alive in the AL.

Essentially zero chance that Maddux allows himself to be traded to the American League.
wow!! I agree with that. But I have a feeling Maddux will be gone within the next 48 hrs. and it may be to an AL team.

I think both Maddux and the O's would say no to that trade.

That makes no sense. He has the chance to say no, and he seems to have a major dislike for the AL. Why would he allow himself to be traded to the AL?

What 40 year old pitcher would want to start over in the AL. He has a complete "book" on most NL batters.

plus he has said before that he thinks the designated hitter is a joke and he prides himself with his abilities at the plate.

ok. thanks for the info... I also did a search for article in which he was interviewed or mentioned.... and the teams that are not included in his NTC are all NL teams. so it prolly wouldnt matter

I have become content with the realization that Greg Maddux will finish out the season and begin next year as our #3.

I still think he'll be traded but if he doesn't get traded by the deadline, then I think your scenario will come true but only if Maddux wants to come back. If he doesn't want to pitch anymore he won't but if he does, I have no doubt that Hendry will resign him.
