My wife is at a Pampered Chef party. The humor of that is I think she's cooked twice in the last three months.

Well, maybe it's really a Sexy Sadie party and you're in for a treat!

She took my 2-year-old with her, so I doubt it.

pitching out with a guy having trouble throwing strikes...

if he has trouble thowing K's he should'nt be in the bigs

A pitchout with a slow running catcher on first and the pitcher trying to sac bunt him over? Umm... what?

not a big deal...hill's had pinpoint control tonight.

Then every pitcher should be in the minors, they all have games where they struggle with the strike zone.

I realize you're being sarcastic, but what does your response have to do with my post??

Ok, so using that logic, Z should be in the minors seeing as he can be so wildly inconsistant from one game to the next.

Eckstein sure made an effort to get out of the way of that pitch, didn't he?

I thought the rules say you have to at least make it LOOK like you don't want to get hit....

When's that ever called in the big leagues though?

The only time I've seen it called was (incorrectly) against UCLA ladies softball against Northwestern.

Lets not compare Z to Rich Hill okay?

i was agreeing with you. it was stupid to pitch out there...for the reasons you mention plus the fact that he hasn't had good command.

and hill's probably thrown his last pitch as a cub.

Yeah, but Hill has not been consistent enough in the strike zone to stay in the big leagues.

His minor league stats are so impressive though that you know it is mental. I'm pretty sure the guy can throw strikes, he just needs the confidence that he can go out there and get the job done.

So send him back to the big leagues to drop that sub-2 ERA, sub-1 WHIP, .171 BAA, and increase that 6/1 K/BB ratio? Or how about we let him try to improve his control at the big leagues. I mean, we could always send Rusch back out there.

Way, way back in the day, it was called in favor of pitcher Don Drysdale when he hit someone with the bases loaded on his way to setting the then record for consecutive scoreless innings. On the "replay" the batter made an out an the streak was preserved.
