Is Carlos Marmol the designated catcher for the ceremonial first pitches? It seems like everytime they show tape of it, Marmol is always the one catching it.

I don't care how much people are complaining about Hill, I still want to see him get the start every 5th day with the big league team for the rest of the year. Where is this team going? 2nd to last in the NL? Seriously, just let the kid pitch the rest of the year and then see where he is at the end of the season compared to where he is now. I bet the results will be much different.

HE'S ONLY GOT ONE PITCH!~~~!!

Rich Hill is not a starter! He never will be! I've been preaching this all year long...

See, I think that's fine to think that, and you might be right. But why not pitch Hill...not like we have any options that are better. Might as well be definite instead of letting Rusch rejoin the rotation.

I'm just afraid Hendry would trade for somebody like a Jeff Weaver, he'd go 3-0 with a 3.28 ERA get signed to a 3 year extension for 4 million a year and haunt us for the rest of our lives.

It's usually the rookies

They usually have it be either the most recent guy called up from the minors or the youngest guy unless it's the starting pitcher for that day.

Though I suppose it should have been Wuertz today (if it's the most recent), so who knows?

I'd love to see Roddy Piper hit Jim Hendry on the side of the head with a coconut.

You just know that Hogan would have to show up soon after though, and he's pretty bad at putting the rookies over.

Roddy Piper needs to be the new manager. 8)

threw out one of the first pitches.

He can motivate guys, he can yell, and he can sure as hell argue with the ump. He'd taunt LaRussa and Ozzie the whole year long.

He's everything Dusty isn't.

Was Aramis mumbling, "Help me Jobu" when they did that close-up on him?

I was just thinking of what I'm going to yell at Edmonds on Saturday at the game, then I saw your post and it made me wonder... how'd the AJP heckling go that you talked about?
