As long is it's not serious I think it's a blessing in disguise.

Unless he misses a couple of weeks and they decide it would be best to give him more experience by pitching through September.

Great!! Another arm ruined. Hey, job opening!!!

If you want your arm ruined, come to the Chicago Cubs and Dusty Baker where they'll play you to ruin your arm!!

Strangely enough, the Cubs have actually been careful with Marshall this season. I believe his highest pitch count on the season was 102 (which he hit three times).

Let the Guzman v. Hill speculation begin.

guzamn was pulled in his last start due to cramps and since hill is starting today his schedule matches marshall's so i dont think there is much to speculate about- unless they would consider bringing up ryu instead of hill for some inane reason.

How is his arm ruined?

if he has to miss a start and hill (who is on marshall's schedule) does not get called up, i may finally lose it.

I'm putting my money on Rusch back to the rotation......and Wuertz called up to replace in middle relief.

Agreed. I didn't see his injury occur, but I'm assuming it's minor and will work as a nice unexpected rest so he can finish the season strong.

I wasnt watching the game... but on the radio it sounded like it was his leg.. not his arm. I say shut him down for the season or until Baker is gone. So that we dont ruin his arm.

Isn't Rusch DLed from Prior's activation?

Rusch pitched last night in relief for Prior and they sent Theriot down to make room for Prior.

With this injury, I bet they call up Hill or Guzman. Then if Prior get hurt again or Maddux gets traded they will call up Wuertz and make Rusch a starter

for those that don't venture to the minor league forums...hill's line tonight...

can't wait to see rusch out there in five days!

If Marshall misses a start I am willing to make a large wager that Rusch will take his spot. It is really obvious if you follow the Cubs at all.
