Gimme an NFL season. I can't wait to see Steve Smith in action when he actually has a No. 2 guy to go with him.

I bet the Packers suck again.

I actually know a Packer fan who would be willing to take that bet, quite easily.

Somehow a broken down Charles Woodson who never learned technique and some rookie LBs means division champs.

Go Bears! Here's to a cakewalk NFC North title!

2 more months till the start of the season, and since all of us would really like to be there now and not deal with this cubs season, this thread will make that slightly more of a realistic.

Ashley Lelie needs to grow a pair:

We already have an NFL thread, its called the Bears Off-season thread.

Don't try and tell me that other NFL teams exist, you will fail miserably. Every so often, usually on Sundays, the Bears will...meet another team on the field, but will crush them so completely and mercilessly that they can hardly be considered to be part of the NFL.

And don't start talking about these "Packers" I keep hearing about. They certainly can't be real.

Ha, Ha Keyshawn a #2 that will actually make a difference. 50 Cyber Bucks says Nate Burleson has a better season and the Panthers miss the playoffs enitrely, thus proving without a doubt how [expletive] ESPN commentators are.

So here is the bet I made with one of my roommates. I don't think it is so bad, but everyone tells me I am crazy. Of course I live in Indy where the Colts can't do wrong, but here it is--pretty simple.

The bet:

The Bears will make it farther than the Colts in the playoffs. Tie breaker is regular season record, and after that conference record.

The wager:

The loser has to pay for the winner for one night. Dinner at a nice restaurant (prob St. Elmos or Ruth Chris), full meal with drinks. After that the loser will pay for all drinks at whatever bar the winner wants to go to, for the whole night, plus all cab fares. Pretty much the winner gets a free night on the town. Probably end up being around a $400-500 dollar bet. Am I crazy for taking that bet? I feel pretty safe. Of course I am sure some of my Colt hatred played some effect in that. It is printed up, signed, and framed on the wall.

When was the last time the Bears won a playoff game?

Smith led the NFL in receiving yards, TDs, and receptions last year with Drew Carter/Keary Colbert at No. 2. Do you have any idea how huge a competent receiver is? If your Seahawks hadn't been able to quadruple-team Smith in the NFC title game and know that no one else could do anything, then Smith would've run wild just like he did against everyone else.

I'm actually a Packer fan, but they are pretty bad. Bears are a nice regular season team who will get proven frauds again in the playoffs. Still could use some offensive playmakaz.

Charles Woodson is unbelievably overrated and overpaid. The Packers can have him. I never understood why the Raiders kept making him their franchise player the last couple years. He was decent a few years ago but always gets injured now. Good riddence to him.

Not that my Raiders will be much better (5-11 here we come) than the Packers.

13 days until Bears tickets go on sale.

Thanks for reminding me. Have u had any experience/success getting general public tickets? I can imagine it being quite difficult with 8 games and about 20,000 tickets per game available.

Haven't tried for the cheaper seats. I know that there were some games last year where you could get the $200 seats even after the season started.

I haven't been down there since 2001 when I got six tickets to the Tampa Bay game at roughly face value from Gold Coast Tickets a few hours after the SF win and then 3 playoff tickets two nights before the game. But I'm certainly going to try this year, especially for the home finale. I'll be using the money that would have gone towards going to some Cubs games after May.

Last year, I bought 4 tickets in 111 for $80 a pop. I was on-line, picked tickets, processed and paid within 10 minutes.

I have never attended an NFL game, as neither Carolina's visit to Indy in 2003 or their two games in Chicago last year had tickets available. I'm hoping to be able to get tickets for their game against Indy in 2007 in the event that it is back there (unlikely because the last two matchups between the teams have been there).

I wanted to get season tickets this year to the Cowboys. My wife checked her work schedule and she would only be able to go to three of the games, so she vetoed the idea. I still plan on going to two this year and maybe a Saints game in New Orleans as well.

I went to two games in Dallas last year.
