I have been a Cubs fan my whole life and I can honestly say that I want them to lose every single game until Dusty Baker is fired. Only then will I be able to root for this team to win again. If by some miracle Baker is back next season, then I won't buy a single ticket. It's sad because I want to see Maddux win and I want to see the young pitchers do well and Zambrano be rewarded for his good starts, but those feelings are being overpowered by my desire for change. It has got to the point where I truly am disappointed when they win because I feel like that is setting the team back. How many others feel the same way?

I feel excatly the same way as you. The only thing that can save our season is beating the Cardinals and White Sox.

That's me.

I can't cheer against the cobs either, but I can't whole-heartedly cheer for them either, because I know that any wins they get will not be the start of their .800 baseball comeback they need to salvage the season, but rather the difference between an 8-12 stretch and a 4-16 stretch.

This is why my extent of caring has evolved to complete apathy. I check Cubs.com once a day to see how many runs they lost by this time, then I lurk on the board to commiserate with the only community of people in this world who hates the Cubs as much as I do.

What's the over/under on how bad they lose tomorrow?

I think they'll make a game of it. I'm putting the over/under at 4 1/2.

Cubs lose 3-2. Z pitches complete game and gets a solo homer from each side of the plate. And the three runs are unearned.

I'm sorry, but thats ignorant. Sometimes it seems like you'd be content if we went 25-137. As long as we sweep the Sox and Cardinals, we are ok. It often seems as if you are more of a Sox/cards hater than a cubs fan.

Oh, and as for me, I cant cheer against the cubs either. I cant even watch them. I havent watched a full game...wow, Since april. And I havent watched more than an inning in a month or so either. I cant even pretend to care anymore.

<---------------Doesn't cheer against the Cubs

Me neither. I hope they win every game, but realistically, I know this team is lucky to win two games a week. I don't get upset anymore when they lose, because it's pointless.

I'm completely in this camp. I'm rooting for strong individual performances by some Cubs to boost trade value, raise hopes for next year, etc.. A no-no by Z would be a nice consolation prize for this lost summer.

I don't root against the Cubs, I've just pretty much started ignoring them and focusing on my fantasy teams and watching the Rangers. I wouldn't mind seeing them end up in last to (hopefully) force Hendry's hand, but I won't root for their opponents or any other division rivals.

No. I want us to win, but I am rooting for the Cubs to lose so that Hendry has no choice but to fire Dusty. I'm saying though, that I still want us to beat the White Sox and Cardinals, b/c come October, "I sure as heck ain't rooting for the White Sox or Cardinals."

I can't pull against the Cubs and will always hope that they win. But I am not disappointed in the least when they lose because I expect them to lose. That is the difference this year. But no I can't pull for the Cubs to lose.

I jumped to rooting against them about 10 days ago. It's a shame that their management is so clueless that it will take horrible failures to improve the team, but that's the way it is.

Who's rooting against the Cubs?

With the lineup that keeps getting sent out there, it seems like Dusty and Hendry are rooting against the Cubs.

I have to admit I am rooting against the Cubs for now. This season is ruined, the management sucks. We ned to keep losing to get rid of Dusty and coaches, And take Pierre with you Please, also we can stock up the minors with players we get for trading our losers to teams that need winners.

Also we can restock our minors with players near the top of the list in next years Jund draft

I can't &/or don't root against the Cubs....but then again I can't &/or don't watch them right now. I love baseball but I can't watch the Cubs style of baseball at all.

I am finding myself pulling for them to lose more and more. I am afraid that they will play somewhat decent ball for the rest of the season and that will be enough for them to extend Dusty. Everytime I see the lineup and it starts Pierre and Perez I really do hope they lose.

My younger kids really want to go to a game this year also. Normally I wouldnt mind. However I dont want to be one the lemmies that show up everygame to help support this team. I am going to take them. I am going to try to do it on a night that Zambrano pitches.

I'm a Cubs fan. I'm optimistic to the point of stupidity. I still root for the Cubs to win every single day and hold out hope they can win the division.

I can't really bring myself to root against them. Certainly a part of me knows that each loss brings them closer to getting rid of Dusty, but I still find myself rooting for them (and watching most of the games). I just find that I don't really care about the outcome so much.

I always want the Cubs to win. That's why it hurts so much when they lose.

I would like nothing more than for Baker to be a genius, Rothschild to be better than Mazzone, and Sarge to be the reincarnation of Walt Rheniak.

I have invested too much over the years to wish for anything else.
