What has been better, the WBC or the World Cup? I say WBC. There was so much electicity in the stands during the WBC. I've never seen that during the World Cup and the Bulls titles in the 90's are the only time I've seen a stadium more electric.

You're saying there is less electricity in the crowd at the World Cup than at the UC during the MJ era? I'd recommend you watch a World Cup game or two and then re-consider your stance.

The World Cup by a mile, maybe a couple of decades from now after it has become established, the WBC will have a better chance.

Are you kidding me? At least Pedro admitted he picked the WBC because he hates soccer. This is a joke of a question. It is without a doubt the World Cup. Just wait until the knockout stage of the tournament because the fans are going to get even crazier then.

Yes, I agree that the WBC crowds are leaps and bounds ahead of the World Cup crowds.

Are you people on crack? The World Cup is the LARGEST SPORTING EVENT IN THE WORLD. Everyone in the stands sings, chants and screams for the full 90 minutes, and usually for several hours beforehand and afterward (the winners, anyway) as well. Absolutely nothing compares to a World Cup crowd. Nothing. No comparison. World Cup crowds would drown out the space shuttle liftoff.

And that's the ONLY reason I picked the WBC. World Cup crowds are without a doubt the most intense (electric) crowds I have ever seen at a sporting event. Especially when it's played in Europe. WBC crowds were special (I was in one surrounded by Venezuelans and it was amazing) but nothing compared to the World Cup.

Phfft. All soccer fans do is get drunk and riot.

Please, don't get us mixed up with Red Sox fans.

They do. You combine a soccer game, with 400-year old bitter history's, a few pints of beer, and you've got a riot on your hands.

Err...right.

And all Cubs fans are cell phone-talking yuppies...

Have you ever had a non-stereotypical thought pass through your mind?

Just wondering.

If you have any illusions about WC crowd, watch a game with South Korea involved.

Best fans, hands down, in the world. Nonstop energy.

And the original poll question is like asking if breathing oxygen is better for you than breating CO2. There's no comparison that's even close.

Is this a serious question? The World Cup is one of the greatest things to watch. And it is one of the most watched events across the world. The crowd is unbelievable (but in a good way, unlike the refs this year... THREE yellow cards to the same player in one game? Ok...)

EDIT: Let's not forget the level of competition. In the World Cup, you truly are playing for your country. People have been SHOT for making an own goal. The World Cup has more heart in it than anything I've seen. Maybe this is my soccer bias kicking in since I played it for 12 or 13 years.

Oh yeah... why did they take away the Golden Goal OT?
