One of the groups he belongs to is this: The Cubs Smoke Pole....Literally

And he's already making $100,000 to $150,000 at Notre Dame. The Cubs will have to really fork over some cash.

 

It's kinda like the Miami football players who have to take a pay cut when they enter the NFL. ;)

I'm not the only one who's noticed the Cubs haven't taken a freakishly tall pitcher yet, am I?

 

Renshaw looks decent. He hit 91 on the gun and his secondary stuff looked reasonable. His arm action is a bit violent, though.

I hate the Cardinals, but they would instantly become my favorite team if they drafted me. Know what I mean?

Definitely short arms it, which has a tendancy to cause elbow problems.

Samardzija is 6'6...that's not freakish but it's fairly tall. Renshaw didn't look bad either...he topped out at 91, worked 87-89 mostly. Big curve came in under 70 MPH.

Have to admit it. this draft really scares me. I wonder now that 10 rounds are over if Tim Wilkins is happy with it or down deep would he like a redo.

What the Cubs say is he is excellent at finding good players in the lower rounds. Hope so

Don't you remember the Cubs limited Carlos Zambrano's "time" on the computer. Carlos is their only access to the "Internet" for the Cubs. :)
