Also I enjoy that fact that his scouting video contains all of one instance of him making contact with the ball, and it was a foul.

 

I particularly enjoyed seeing him swing and miss on a few occasions. That made me have tremendous faith in the pick.

 

He looked good doing it, though. And he has a "projectable body", right?

I was accepted to Cal Poly SLO out of HS without applying. I should have gone and walked-on to the baseball team. I could have been drafted by the Cubs!

Richard (Blake) Parker, the Cubs' last pick is brutal. .246 average with 6HRs and 28rbi and he was 10-12 in SBA. Then again he also had 17 errors, 3 passed balls, and runners were 38-52 against him. Yet another mind boggling pick.

Here is Parker's bio. He's supposed to be a power hitter and can play several positions. Split time between C, 1B, and OF last year, and was expected to be the 3B this year. He's supposed to have a cannon for an arm as well...lets hope there's something hidden that we're not seeing.

Here is Ruth's bio. He's a junior but he looks quite promising. He hit .358/.398/.445/.843 this year.

I wonder what his BABIP is? He only has 11K's and 16BBs so that leads me to believe he makes alot of contact.
