I think you overlooked my last sentence in the original post, "I prefer for both of them to be gone."

No, I didn't overlook it. I know you think that. But what I don't get is why you think it's an all or nothing package? Hendry's extension is not grounds for keeping Baker.

I want them all gone. But I'll take 1 before I settle for none.

Bynum gets a hit and nobody on hear says anything about it, but if he would have struck out there everyone on hear would be all over him.

If you're looking for rah-rah cheerleader stuff on the wrong side of 9-2 deficit, you're looking in the wrong place.

I'm seeing a pattern:

Bynum gets a hit and nobody on hear says anything about it, but if he would have struck out there everyone on hear would be all over him.

Jones hit a 2 run bomb, but nobody appreciates it

How come nobody appreciates Jones hitting a 2 run homer, but when he messes up you are all over him? That makes alot of sense

Who made those quotes?

Mabry grounded out to third, 5-3, Ramirez to second

I swear if you just saw the results of abs by bynum, mabry, perez, and pierre, you would never be able to guess which one was hitting.

When Bynum gets two hits or gets on base two times in a week then I might only hate him.

I don't think Hendry will hire someone with a completely different philosophy than his. I don't see him hiring a manager who isn't into the toolsy player. I think he'll dismiss the thought of a manager who likes OBP and stresses patience at the plate. You've heard me say it a lot, I think Baker and Hendry are two peas in a pod. Getting Pierre, Jones, Bynum and Perez shows me he still isn't committed to OBP. So, why would he got out looking for a manager who is committed to OBP and patience at the plate? We'll get another Dusty Baker type without it being Dusty Baker. Just my opinion.

Blind squirrels and nuts come to mind.

That Blind squirrels and nuts come to mind thing is getting real OLD.

Well, when a player's statistics say that he makes outs around 90% of the time, it is applicable. Don't go crazy just because the guy can get one hit in a game that is long over.

I'd imagine having Bynum in the lineup twice a week would get OLD.

Oh my god guys, how come you only cheer when players that are normally good do good things

Ok thats just being ignorant. I believe i said how come nobody appreciated Jones hitting the 2 run homer when the the score was 1-1. Which would make the score 3-1 giving the Cubs a lead. Thats why i said that. So dont try to be a smart a** to me

You have a point, but doing the same thing for a should have been an out triple by Freddie Freaking Bynum late in a blowout is beyond ridiculous. No one would have ripped him if he K'ed, because NO ONE CARED EITHER WAY.

I agree with the Bynum thing. Believe me im not a Bynum fan he should only be used as a pinch runner anyways but at the time he got a hit and it could of started a rally

It's one thing to cheer for someone and it's another thing to pop into game threads and make a comment such as, "________________ got a hit and that doesn't matter".
