5 runs in 56 innings.

Hmmm.... I have 3 in 57 innings:

11 innings, 0 runs Friday (L, 1-0)

9 innings, 0 runs Thursday (L, 6-0)

9 innings, 1 run Wednesday (L, 8-1)

9 innings, 0 runs Tuesday (L, I forgot - 0)

9 innings, 2 runs Monday (W, 2-1)

9 innings, 0 runs Sunday (L, 9-0)

1 inning, 0 runs on Saturday (scored 0 runs in the 9th, L, 16-2)

Thats an average of 1 run ever 19 innings, 1 run every 2 games and 1 inning. Plus we haven't hit a HR in 7 games. Wow

It's 3 runs in 56 innings. All of your numbers are correct except in the win on Monday the Cubs didn't bat in the ninth which would mean 8 innings.

How bad is it that I feel our best possible outcome would be a scoreless tie that gets rained out in the 6th and we have to reschedule it for latter in the year when DLee is back.

The problem with that theory is..... we finish our schedule with San Diego for the year next Sunday.... 14 May !!

The scoreless streak is nothing. I count 1 RBI basehit in the last 56 innings.

That's bad.

Let's take any optimism out of this thread.

If the Cubs could get only 2 hits off Chan Ho in 9 IPs last night, then we should be seeing history in the making tonight. We should see Peavy throwing a NO-HITTER against the Cubs, tonight.

If Modzilla starting a game thread can't spur the Cubs on to victory, nobody can.

Modzilla was 3-1 last season in game threads.

I'll scare the team into winning.

More marine layer in San Diego tonight (heh, what did you expect, it's May), meaning it's going to be near impossible to hit a HR.

For the CUBS, it's near impossible anyway, no?

Hope Marshall has been hitting a bunch in the cage between starts. The Cubs will need his bat tonight.
