I don't have a problem with the bunt in that situation. Even if Cedeno is out, you move Pierre to third with one out and Walker who makes good contact coming up. On a day with the wind blowing in and Maddux on the mound, getting that third run is a big thing. Playing for one run like that on a day like today isn't too bad a decision.

If you have the fastest guy on the team already in scoring position I think it's time to let your #2 hitter swing away.

not true...if cedeno pops out, then either walker or ramirez need to get a hit to drive him in...when cedeno moved him over, it allowed walker to drive one to the outfield, and have pierre test the OFs arms

I didn't realize that Damian Miller was still with Milwaukee.

He'll be there for this year and next, if my memory is correct. I'm pretty sure he signed a 3-year contract, which seemed pretty odd at the time.

That's small-ball thinking. Not my style.

Wow, that ball one was real close according to GameDay.

Tight strike zone today, I take it?

yeah, maddux had some problems in the first, but he found out exactly what the zone was, and has settled down

CUBS with 4 doubles in the game so far, are 1 away from tying their season high of 5 doubles set on openning day in Cincinnati.

Sure scored a lot more runs that day though. 4 doubles and only 3 runs...should be cashing these in more.

The other 10 hits and 7 BBs they got that day might explain some of that, no?
