Weird start time for this one. I suppose its because its on ESPN, but I thought that their Monday night games they just pick randomly and had no say in the start times.

Anyways, its good as I can watch the Cubs build up an early 5-0 lead and then settle in watching game 2 of Bulls/Heat.

And it's going to be HDTV! Gotta love that!

HD is nice, I just wish ESPN would broadcast their baseball games in 1080i. Every game on ESPNHD has been in 720p... nice, but not awesome.

The difference between 720P and 1080I is really minimal at best. I just got a 50' Sony SXRD and the picture to me is stunning!

I have the exact same TV. It is hooked up via HDMI and I freakin love every part of it. However, if possible watch a baseball game on ESPNHD then watch INHD ... they broadcast random games (sometime 3 per week) and push the signal out at 1080i, let me tell you it is night and day. Granted an SXRD and ESPNHD is AMAZING, once you see the SXRD and 1080i ... you will know what I am talking about!

Agreed, I remember living in NE and watching regular season Red Sox games in INHD (broadcast by NESN). Then in the 2003 playoffs, I expected the same, but FOX showed the crappy 720p verson, which was nice but not the same.

At least Tuesday and Wednesday's games are in HD right?

I really have the feeling that Z throws a no hitter.

Hope not. Bulls in the playoffs trumps early season Cubs games so if he did I'd miss most of it.

Agreed from 6-7 its all Cubs, but when 7:00 hits, only halftime and other commercial breaks will dictate watching the Cubs. I doubt I'll even switch over for updates.

Random HD question - do your cable boxes support HDMI outputs? Mine only has component and DVI outs, so I'd have to get a DVI-HDMI converter.

If you can, take the cable box back and ask for a HDMI box. They have them and should not cost you any more per month. Skip the converter as it is just a point of failure should it go.

If you have Comcast they have a HDMI box you just have to ask for it. HDMI is a must for HD.

Then I'd lose all my DV-R'd programs...

And I have Mediacom (downstate provider). I'll call and see if they offer an HDMI box.

My Comcast HDMI box has a DVR in it.

At least Murton is hitting in front of Jones. If we could just get Z hitting in front of Jones and Neifi, we'd be set.

Ditto that. All things considered...that isn't a bad lineup. I'm still pleasantly surprised everytime I see Neifi down at the bottom of the order (not that he's in the order(that never suprises me) but that Dusty has finally, it seems, realized that he isn't a #2 hitter).

On a side note...I think there is a real chance that now that Ronny has been given the chance, he may never give that #2 spot up.

It will be interesting when Lee comes back to see what Baker does with the #2 spot. Leave Cedeno in there and move Walker to 5th or 6th?

Neifi in the lineup doesnt bother me nearly as much if he's in the bottom part.

Yeah Z gets a lot of ground balls and you want your best defense out there.

Ditto, now I can sit back and enjoy the defense he brings....

You know, if everyone is producing as they can, that almost looks like a solid major league lineup. :D We'll have to wait 8-10 weeks to find out.

Hopefully Dusty will sit Jones tomorrow. I just can't imagine him doing very well against Dontrelle Willis, deadly left-handed pitcher.

I agree with everyone who says that it's better to see Neifi in the bottom of the order. But still - when does Hairston get to play? He's pretty good with the glove, and is a much, much better hitter than Neifi (not that that says much). And to cap it all off, Neifi is cold right now anyway. Hairston desperately needs some starts.

Interesting that Hairston hasn't played much at all this year. I bet he will get a start within the next couple of games. Anyways, hopefully Z pitches well today and the Cubs can start a winning streak. Pretty important that the Cubs win tonight with the pitching match up today and Willis pitching tomorrow.

As far as the #2 spot thing goes, I wouldn't be surprised to see Dusty go with the hot hand and switch it up based on trends and mathups. Neifi at the bottom is definitely nice, and for an order that is minus DLEE!!1, this doesn't look half bad. I am actually sort of (gulp) pleased with the job Dusty has done so far this year. My number of gripes with his choices this year is limited to a very reasonable number, and I don't cringe at the prospect of him being around the rest of the season.

Hairston (if not Restovich) should be starting in right against lefthanders.

The fact that Jones gets a start against a lefthander should be cause for revocation of Dusty's managing license and cancellation of Hendry's contract.
