I'm sure there are some disagreements. Weeks is on what I think he'll do potentially this season; Rolen contingent on health (yes the D makes up for the O difference in my mind).

EDIT - Inserted Jason Bay because for some reason I forgot about my second favorite non-cardinal.

if aramis and rolen are both healthy, i bet aramis has better numbers. starting rolen there may still be justified with his d making up for small gap in offense.

DLee has the Gold Gloves so I say Pujols plays the OF.

If you're just going to name closers for the pen, I'll add Gonzalez.

If it is just OF and you're allowing Berkman, I'll go Dunn, Berkman & Bay in the OF (Bay would be my CF). If you require people actually play the three OF positions in 2006 a majority of time, I'll go with Bay, Griffey with Lane edging out Kearns in the weakest position in the division.

The SP looks about right, but I'm no more confident in Sheets staying healthy than I am in Wood. I'll be optimistic for the Cubs and say that Kerry stays healthy enough to edge him out for the 5th spot.

Lopez is a creature of GAB (check his road HR last year), but SS is another really weak position so I'll go with him.

I flat out think Weeks is the best 2B in the division with only an aging Biggio close.

If they're both healthy, I think ARam has the offensive numbers and Rolen has the defense. I'm not sure either will be healthy.

The class position in the division is 1B, without question. Pujols edges out very strong competition from Lee, Dunn & Berkman. Fielder is going to take a few years before he can approach that kind of level.

Biggio's still the best 2B in the division. Until someone else (Weeks) proves otherwise. I'd give Aramis a slight nod over Rolen. I'd probably give Ensberg the nod too, if he shows he can repeat 05.

Where's the love for Nefi and Junior Spivey???

Rolen is going to have a Monster year (hopefull prediction). I think this is the first time he's really been healthy since the near MVP year of 2004.

I tell you what, you look at any version of the teams posted here and realize how good this division is. The NLC has some serious talent.

Is he 28-years old again too?

By mid season, Zack Duke will have pitched his way on to everyone's list.

I think those listing bench players should list bench players, and not starters who didn't make the original list. More fun that way.

No, but he's healthy (they say), and I don't expect .314/34/124 but .300/30/100 and a gold glove isn't out of the question. If you add that to last years team, that's on heck of a boost. I hear people can still be productive at age 31.

Yeah, 31 year olds can still be productive. But 31 year olds with shoulder problems are less likely to do so at that high of a level.

Clearly a case of "What have you done for me lately" and a touch of homerism at work here. Scott Rolen is not Mike Lowell and he never will be. If you're going to focus on one injury plagued season and let that color the remarkably consistent numbers that Rolen has put up, you should do so only because you question a player's ability to recover from a fully torn labrum. But if the healthy assumption holds true, there's no reason Rolen can't put up a season resembling Aram's and Ensberg's.

Maybe that's not out of the question. But .280/25/90 is much more likely.

I'll meet you half way and say .290/27/95

I could live with that. "IF" he's healthy and hitting 4th in that lineup 100 rbi should be no problem. As always with preseason predictions it's all about health.

Yep. 1 injury plagued season following missing a month of the previous season with a leg injury. He hasn't hit anything since coming back in 04. 3-18 in the regular season after the injury. Bad playoff showing. .235 in 05, before he went down.

I'm going to throw this out there and am prepared to take the heat: I'd put Pettitte in the rotation before Prior. Based on past performance, Pettitte will give you 200+ innings, a career ERA of 3.78 and WHIP of 1.34. Yes, I know Prior has career ERA and a WHIP lower than Pettitte, but he hasn't had as long a career.

So, feel free to attack
