I was disappointed by the Bears performance, Moose has had too many drops for someone who has been vocal w/Orton all year long. Part of the drop in numbers has been his many drops.

Good to see Grossman take some hits.

Defense didn't get much pressure w/the front four or on blitzes and missed too man tackles again.

A 7 point win vs. GB is disappointing, especially with Longwell missing 2 just under 40 yds.

But, the Bears have won the division and have a chance to go 6-0 in the division.

Time to sit the starters.

My front 4 comment earlier, where I said they do not get enough credit was strictly based on the last possession of GB.

Nice of the Dline to finally show up tonight. It is going to feel weird to have Da Bears taking a week off next week. But hey, Ill take it. DA BEARS!

We need to keep the starters sharp with the bye week coming up. I say play them 2.5-3 quarters and pray no one gets injured.

Would also be interesting if the Bears opened up the offense and passed long and hard next week to see if there is anything there. If there is, the Bears will look like a VERY imposing team to opponents who will have twice as much scouting to do. If it doesn't work, you stick with your 'get the lead and run the ball' game plan.

Either way, Go Bears! Takes my mind off that other team I like

Hmm.. all passing game when you don't care about the score...

after going to the game last night, i have more respect for pack fans. most of their fans were very loud and energetic, but well behaved for the most part. i participated in well-meaning trash-talk most of the night with the fans sitting around and near me (although there were enough bear fans sitting around me to give me confidence), but i think that everyone had a good time (except for the part when the pack lost, but the fans even seemed good-natured about that).

i saw a confrontation out front after the game when a pack fan ripped a bears hat off of a bear fan and threw it up in the air. the bear fan when through 3 packer fans to catch the guy who did it, the altercation cooled before anyone got hurt--despite some drunken idiot running up and shouting "the bears still suck" in the bear fans face while the guy was being restrained--the idiot soon ran the other way when the guy's friends let him go.

i learned that most packer fans, however, think this season is an anomally. i have my doubts regarding their optimism.

BEAR DOWN!

With all my experiences at the Lambeau, I'd agree here Sulley. There is always a respect factor amongst both fan bases. Maybe it was a little different for me because the times I was there, the Bears were terrible. Viking fans treatment of Bears fan on the other hand is a different story. Bunch of jerks.

I think there is definitely something there. Every long pass was catchable except 1 or 2. The other element that comes into play with the long pass is pass interference calls on the beaten pass defenders. I would love to see the offense completely open up the field. Maybe even work on finding a way to get Clark open a little more, also. He's become almost a non factor as a pass receiver.

Rex throws a nice pass. I'm really excited about the offense now. Not sure what happened with the defense this week, but even the 1985 Bears had an off week against an NFL great in Miami.

the packers match up well against the bears, at least, favre does. he throws a great intermediate pass, right through the window of the cover 2, and he throws the slant better than probably any QB in history. these are the two passes that the bears defense has trouble with.

what concerns me is that harris, scott, and tank weren't getting a very good push up the middle--while i expected wale and brown to have SOME trouble with tauscher and clifton. urlacher and briggs had another bad tackling day and tillman played poorly, but the bears still won.

yesterday's game is a great example of what the bears can do with grossman under center, they can win without the defense having a particularly good game.

Yep... Yesterday's game with Orton would've looked a lot like the Pittsburgh game.

With Rex in there, they can overcome an off day by the de, which is what I've been calling for all along with Rex. He doesn't have to throw for 300 yards.

That said, I wish they would've stayed a little more aggressive on offense in the second half. They were WAY too predictable with the run. It seemed like the only time they even attempted to pass was on 3rd down.

Went to my favorite store this morning (Let's Tailgate on Central in Evanston) and was the first to pick up a lockerroom t-shirt. It's sweet.

Does anyone know where I can find a quality recording of Bear Down without the lyrics? I'm tired of listening to the one I have that sounds like it was recorded with a handheld voice recorder.

I was listening to the Dan Patrick show this morning and I was shocked to hear so many Packers fans call in a stick up for him stating his problem is not enough talent around him or the running game hasnt been good. I'm thinking Gado was better than Ahman Green and others they are just trying to find excises. They don't want to believe their savior's career is coming to an end but when you think about it Favre is gone one way or another in about a year max. His decision making all year has been questionable and also has cost them a lot of points. I personally think he is done.

:( I went too early (and it was like 2pm), I only got a hat, the guy said he was going to pick the shirts up later.... Makes me wish I was in the city right now.

If you wait longer, though, other companies will put out division champ t-shirts with probably better designs. The best 2001 division champ t-shirt I saw was sold at Osco.

Tobias- Nope. The Bears' position is settled and the Vikings have already been eliminated.

Will next week's game matter at all? I mean, will it have any bearing on who we play in the playoffs or anything?

We're locked up with the #2 seed and Minn has been eliminated so no but I wonder if a loss will give us a better draft pick.

Draft seeding for playoff teams is based on how they do in the playoffs. So no, it won't.

But it might for Minny...of course if Tice doesn't think he'll be back next season, what does he care?

favre's career isn't over. if he insists on playing for the packers, it probably is. but the pack had a ton of injuries this season and not much to start with.

favre's really not that old.

Injuries or not his decisions are very questionable. He throws passes that no matter who you have as your WR they won't make. I highly doubt all of his INTs have to do with the talent around him.
