So is Arizona going to dump some outfielders now? They seem to be loaded prospect wise at the position.

You would think so, wouldn't ya? But, it won't be easy to move Gonzalez or Green. If Gonzalez and Green knew they would be sitting the bench this year, would they be in favor of a trade then? That's how I would present it as the GM of the D'Backs.

Jackson's gonna be at 1B in the future. But still you have an OF of Quentin, Young, Tracy. Or you could put Tracy back at 3B, put their #4 prospect, ironically enough another C, Carlos Gonzalez in the OF and have Tracy, Drew, Santos, Jackson in the IF.

The D'Backs should jump at any chance to trade Gonzalez, Green, or Glaus for pitching.

The Killer C's?

That's what I call my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law. But I suspect it stands for something different.

Would it be wise to let Arizona dump Green on us if we pay his entire salary? But of course, to take him off their hands, it would cost one of those prospects.

I don't think Green would waive his NTC to play in Chicago. From what I understand, he wants to stay in the Southwest.

Green started in Toronto and Chicago is southwest of Toronto? Am I reaching here? :D

I still think there are many options out there for Hendry and I'd like to see him take advantage of some of these. On that note I'm a little worried Green would want some extra years and/or cash to go to Chicago.

I thought Green was from around Chicago...or am I making that up?

I think someone posted in another thread that Green was born in or around the Chicago area, but his family moved away from there within a year or so of his birth. To my knowledge he grew up in California.

I thought he was only from Chicago in the sense that he was born there and lived there a couple years. He spent most of his life in southern California, went to high school and college in CA, and was considered a returning hero when he first went to LA.

I thought Shawn Green went to Maine West High School in Des Plaines :-k

From DBacks site:

Shawn graduated from Tustin (CA) High School in 1991 where he was a first-team selection on the USA Today All-USA High School team.

I don't know when he moved out of Chicago, but it's a good bet he hasn't had much of a tie to the area since 1990, at least. I really don't see much incentive to going to the Cubs, unless they offer him more money, which wouldn't be all that wise.
