Do you guys honestly think Len Kasper is going to come on and say one way or another where Rafael Furcal is going to sign? He'd completely blow any confidence Jim Hendry has in keeping this kind of news under wraps. Not to mention jeopardize Furcal's decision.

 

Is it still possible Kasper said what he did? Sure. But I doubt it was his intention to mention it to a fan, only to have it splattered all over a message board. It might just be the first and last time he ever shares any inside information.

Just got a text message from my Hooter girl source. Len can't comment...he's working on another plate of wings.

 

He did say Hendry is there too...is now shirtless and banging two plates together while shouting "I love Hooters!"

Why? Let Cedeno start and address the outfield situation instead. If you get good bats for CF and RF, no one should have a problem with Cedeno starting.

 

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't complain if the Cubs did get Lugo. However, I would complain if they panicked due to losing out on Furcal and decided to give up way to much for Lugo when they already have a very solid option on the roster in Cedeno.

I'll check with my source and get back with you. But you have to understand...my source is at the Hooters in West Monroe communicating by text messaging with a Hooters girl in the Hooters on Well St.

 

And amazingly the Hooters girls seem to be better spellers than the fake Len Kasper.

I may have been upset over not landing Furcal, but the comedy of this thread has given me an enjoyable night.

Let me say this. I've been as hard an Hendry as anyone. But, it was a good move not matching any deal close to 3 yrs/$40M. That is insane money, even for the speedy top of the order guy that can catch the ball.

 

EDIT: Then again, who knows? I supposed until we know differently, he could have matched it, or come close, and Furcal simply chose to go to LA LA land.

He definitely avoided making a bad move. I'm not sure that's the same as making a good move, though.
