Anyone watching the Pit/Louisville game? Right now it is 35-7, pitt.

doubt Louisville will make the tournament with this crappy performance.

The only way they were getting in is if they won the Big East tournament.

Well, at least L'ville sacked up and managed to at least get back in the game, but I think they may had dug too deep of a hole to win the game.

Yeah, they weren't even on the bubble.

true..I think it was Digger Phelps that said a win might get Louisville in, but everyone knows that Digger Phelps is an idiot.

Seton Hall, I don't think, should be getting in after the loss to Rutgers today.

4 interesting Big East games tomorrow as well as the NIU-Toledo quarterfinal matchup at 11 am :x I'll definitely be listening to a radio during the day at school tomorrow.

G'town 67, ND 63. The Hoyas hit every big shot including a ridiculous over-the-shoulder left-handed layin by Brandon Bowman.

I'm so happy that Torin Francis won't be playing any more meaningful games in a Notre Dame uniform. What a waste of a strong 6'10" frame this guy turned out to be.

Yeah. Francis got progressively worse offensively as he went thru school. As a freshman, he looked like he would be a guy that would be in college for 3 years at best and become a lottery pick. He had size, strength, and athletic ability. Definitely a waste.

Blame Brey.

I don't (and I think I'm the only ND fan on here that doesn't). Brey isn't the greatest coach on Earth, but clearly Torin was never going to learn that you don't need to dribble the ball every damn time you get it. How he was still projected as a late 2nd round pick as of a month ago is completely over my head. I'd take Quinn, Carter, Cornett, McAlarney or Kurz off of this team before Francis.

Hopefully we get an NIT bid just so I can see Quinn play one more time. I'll miss him.

That's ridiculous. L'ville had the same conference record as ND did and a similar non-conference schedule, right down to their best nonconference win being over an SEC team, except ND's team (Bama) was better than L'ville's (UK pre-Morris). If a win was getting Louisville in, then a win was getting ND in too.

More proof that the preseason polls are stupid. If Louisville isn't ranked third to start the year then we're not having this discussion.

I don't think any sane person was considering Louisville. In basketball the season is long enough and there are enough games to remove most if not all of the preseason bias from the polls.

Louisville didn't beat UK:

Say goodbye to an extra at-large bid. GW just lost in the quarters of the A-10+ tournament, by 15, to Temple. Nobody else from that conference was even mentioned in at-large consideration.

Ouch. GW's gonna lose in the first round. I think they are a 4-5 seed at best now. They are gonna face a pretty good team from the 12-13 slot.

Syracuse pulled it out vs. UConn. At least for UConn, they won't have the burden of being the #1 team going into the tourney. The #1 team never wins.

Connecticut taking the rest of the weekend off to prepare for the tournament they care more about, falling to Syracuse 86-84 in OT.

Was UNC ranked #1 going into the tournament last year, or did Illinois hang onto #1 even after losing at Ohio State? Either way, I don't think any team this year is as clear a favorite as those two were last year.

This is why I don't like conference tournaments. Basically, Syracuse is now getting rewarded for a mediocre season just because they waited until March 8th and 9th to play good basketball instead of doing it in December, January and February. Now, UConn may not get the #1 overall seed because of one bad game.

I think Northern Iowa can say bye-bye to an invite.

I'm not so sure Syracuse doesn't still have to win the Big East tournament to get in. Even with today's win, their resume is well below that of several mid-major teams. The fact that they play so many non-conference games at home may really hurt them this year.

They were a bubble team entering the tournament (albeit one of the top bubbles) and because of reputation this win I think sealed it for them. Again, I don't like the tournament because even if they do win the conference tourney that's basically rewarding them for a bad three months of basketball in exchange for four good days of basketball. I think a couple of Misouri Valley teams will now get hurt with Syracuse and an extra A-10 team getting in.

Syracuse is in. They had a shot if they'd lost to Cincy. Beating UConn is probably gonna get them a 6 seed.

That's absurd. Syracuse isn't touching a 6 seed with anything less than a Big East tournament title.

And UConn is not losing their 1 seed either. Only teams that could jump them would be Villanova, Duke, and Ohio St.

I see them getting a 6 seed if they win the conference tourney, but an 8-9 seed if they don't.

For Raisin, from the latest Forde Minutes:

(25) Are you feeling any Tim Floyd magic here for USC?

Sure. That rabid USC basketball fan base will carry the day in Staples Center and ... oh, wait. Never mind. Floyd has done a good job this season, but his team has little margin for error. The Trojans' last double-digit victory was in December. They've had six double-digit defeats since then.

If Duke or Villanova win their conference tourneys, I believe they will get the #1 overall seed in the tourney.
