My God, Tyler Hansbrough is so good. I've actually hung out with him before. Not only is he ridiculously good at b-ball, but he's a really nice guy too.

 

He's a stud. Too bad he didn't pick Mizzou... No hard feelings though, I wouldn't go to Mizzou either if I was a 5 star recruit. Mizzou is such a mess. Still, he would have looked good in black and gold...

You think teams will be studying the last two games' worth of tape on Duke? If it wasn't for the man-love the selection comittee has for the Blue Devils, you would almost think they would need to win the ACC tourney to get the #1 seed. But no, they can lose to Clemson or whoever next week and still get the easiest regional.

 

Bummer that DePaul lost. But like Penn State, they are returning nearly all of their players next year and should be better. The one announcer during today's game said the Blue Demon back court will be one of the best in the Big East next year. We'l see...

 

Majerus also said Wilson Chandler could be a potential Big East player of the year next year as well..I see DePaul having a good comeback season next year.

 

Duke doesn't play defense. Another game, another near 80 point effort for the opposing team. It would not shock me if Duke was upset in the 2nd round or Sweet 16.

I heard that Mizzou refused to recruit/deal with his younger brother because of what his dad did to the university. He pulled a Cushman on Snyder, saying not to go after any other big men because Tyler was a done deal to Mizzou, then dumped him.

 

Good to see Duke go down. Looks like Redick's jumper is losing it's legs. His last 4 games he's 5 of 21, 3 of 10, 10 of 28, and 5 of 21 from the field. You could make the case that an early ACC exit, even if it means a 2 seed in the NCAA's, would be best for Duke's Final Four and Championship aspirations.

As for beating Duke, it's possible, but unfortunately we aren't very battle tested due to a horrible BigXII. Still, it's been a fun team to watch, and I think Self has done a great job with them. 22-7 and no worse than co-BigXII champs this year. And that's with all fresh and soph starters, and no players, outside of one senior walkon, who played much last year.

I would like to go to Staples to check out the Pac-10 tourney, but UCLA is playing during the day on Thursday (what's up with having the #1 seed play at 2 in the afternoon??). Maybe the final on Saturday if the Bruins get there.

Mizzou with an impressive comeback to beat Nebraska on Senior Day at Mizzou Arena. They now get the same Nebraska team thursday night in the B12 tourney.

congrats. Bradley played well the first half but came out and really stunk it up in the second, the couldn't pass, rebound or shoot, taking 7 minutes to score. But, that said, SIU didn't do that well to begin with either, but managed to turn it around first.

 

I was at the game by the way and a cheerleader for SIU took a horrible fall and had to be taken off by medics.

yeah they showed that on TV..real nasty fall. It looked like that she would be alright..as she left on the stretcher, she started moving her arms and she was doing a cheer sequence. Hopefully she'll be alright.

well the Commish is pretty dumb then as the scenario that I listed, having the last 4 teams play in play-in games, eliminates the scenario of the top 4 teams playing 4 games in 5 days.

 

They also don't have to use the Garden for 5 days as the 2 play-in games would be at the 13th and 14th place home venues. I really don't understand why they don't consider this idea..its common sense. I just can't believe how a team that beats Syracuse by 39 doesn't even make their conference tournament.

 

It's not common sense at all because then you'd wind up with 14 teams after the winner of the 13/16 and 14/15 game was decided. From there you'd have to have 3/14, 4/13, 5/12, 6/11, 7/10/, 8/9 before finally making it to the quarterfinals. Now you've got the tournament going 5 days, and making it pretty much impossible for any of those 4 bottom seeds to win anyways, so what's the point?

Chris Quinn earns a very well-deserved spot on the (11-man) all-Big East first team. I hope someone gives him a look in the upcoming draft, because he's much more well-rounded than Matt Carroll was, and he's doing pretty well now with the Bobcats.

I really don't know if Kansas deserves more than a 5 seed. Sure they're on fire now, but the Big 12 is just horrendous this year. Plus, I don't think they're non-conference schedule produced many good wins. That said, kU has had a great season. After Mizzou beat them, they could have packed it in. But they rebounded very well. Lunardi has them as a 5 seed in Salt Lake right now. It'll be tough for them to move up a whole lot, because there's not much of a quality win in the B12 tourney to be found outside of Texas.

When the conference expanded to 16 teams, they expanded the all-conference team. I don't really get it, either.
