we didn't really get outplayed, just like Soul mentioned, we just missed a lot of open shots.

we always have one game a month where we look unstoppable and another game where we look like we can't hit a shot if the hoop was the size of an ocean. Unfortunately tonight was one of those nights.

Lets get the Nets on Tuesday.

Z was at the game tonight, the third game I've seen him at over the past 2 years. He really loves him some Bulls.

I believe the other 2 I saw him at were a game last year against Charlotte (during Cubs convention) and a game against Indiana this year (during Cubs convention). This is the first time I've seen him at a Bulls game several hours after pitching. What an awesome man.

There was at least one more where they were interviewing him during the game on WGN. It may have been the same Indiana game, though, now that I think of it.

Depending on what Washington does, the East could have FOUR teams at or below .500 in the playoffs. There ought to be a law!

Pacers and Bucks both lost today. Bulls only 1 back of Indiana, and only 1.5 back of Milwaukee.

games of interest tomorrow: Knicks @ Pacers and Wizards @ 76ers.

I want the 6th seed. Is that too much to ask for?

If you watched any part of Saturday's game, yes it is.

Hey, out in New York, I don't get to see many games, but I try to follow the baby bulls as much as I can. However, there are a lot of questions that box scores and sportscenter don't answer. For example, when Deng and Nocioni are on the floor together, who plays the 4? Also, why is Ben Gordon not starting? I understand that Duhon has been playing great recently, but Gordon seems to regularly get more minutes anyway, even during bad performances. Besides, he seemed to play better when he was the starter.

Also, why is Sweetney the starter at center? My friend said it probably has something to do with Tyson's back. That doesn't make sense to me though, because Tyson always getes a starter's minutes . If you were protecting his back, wouldn'y you do the opposite, i.e. start him but cut down his minutes?

Finally, why cut Tim Thomas? From the couple of games I have seen on national TV, my read his that we can beat any team in the league when our shots are falling. We are inconsistent because we have no secondary option to help tread water while the shots are not falling. Tyson has no touch around the basket, and behind him is only a hodgepodge of bench-caliber players. You're telling me we couldn't use Thomas' 10 points on .441 shooting as an option in the paint to take the pressure off our guards?

Looks like there are 3 playoff positions available, and 4 teams fighting for them.

After Saturday's debacle, I'm wondering whether the Bulls will be the team left out. That was a terribly poor showing.

Nocioni does normally.

Gordon had a stretch in February or thereabouts where he was playing well as a starter but on the whole he plays better when off the bench. It's a mystery why, but his 4th-quarter heroics almost always come in games he does not start.

Also, why is Sweetney the starter at center? My friend said it probably has something to do with Tyson's back.

Same reasoning as Ben. Tyson almost always plays better off the bench. 4 times this year he has grabbed 20 rebounds off the bench.

Finally, why cut Tim Thomas? [snip] You're telling me we couldn't use Thomas' 10 points on .441 shooting as an option in the paint to take the pressure off our guards?

Thomas is not a Skiles type of player. He didn't report to camp in shape and is not a good guy to have in the clubhouse. He didn't play very well in the few games he actually got in.

Hope all that helped!

76ers and Pacers both win. 76ers only have 1 of their final 5 left at home though. We HAVE to win tomorrow.

Not much chance of that happening. Since when did this team become a better road club than home, btw? That's disturbing.

we were a good road team last year too. We really need to step it up at home though.

A win against NJ would be great, but I wouldn't call it a must-win game. It'll be difficult to win tonight without Deng in the lineup anyway.

Oh, Deng is definitely out? NJ is coming off a big win streak too I think.

It's very likely a loss.

He's questionable. Reports make it sound like he's still suffering some symptoms and they don't mess around with concussions generally. My guess is he's out tonight.

Gordon doesn't start because he falls asleep too much on defense. He also still commits careless TOs.

The Bulls cut Tim Thomas becaue they wouldn't adapt to his style and he wouldn't adapt to theirs. Skiles and Pax don't tolerate noncompliance.

As far as the shots are concerned, you're right. Aside from their lack of a consistent inside game, the biggest thing plaguing this team is its woeful shooting. Either they make everything or they make nothing. The other night in Philly I couldn't count on 7 hands the number of wide open shots this team missed. Simply put, the good teams in this league make you pay when you leave them wide open. This team can, but they don't do it consistently. Needless to say it kills them.

I know you stated you don't get to see as many games in the NE, but I hope you've had a chance to witness Deng's play. With all the pub Gordon gets, it is Deng who will be the star of this team. The man can drive to the basket, and he is by FAR this team's best defender. Watching Deng play defense is a thing of beauty. Now if he can only stay healthy long enough to hone his shooting skills he'll be a stud. I love Hinrich, Noce, and Ben, but if there is ONE guy on this team who is untradeable its Luol.

The mybulls e-mail I got had Allen in the lineup, so he is most likely out.

The Bulls shoot a low percentage as a team because very few of their players can drive to the basket effectively and frequently. It's a lot easier to miss a jump shot compared with a dunk or layup.

^ Yup, look at their best games this season. They've all come when the Bulls shot well from the field. The worst ones like Saturday, they shoot terrible.

Anyways, midway through the first, its 18-17 Bulls
