Excuse me if I mispell, I am kinda drunk.

I went to the Cubby Bear just to be out tonight. It was 95% Sox fans. After the game was over, I got at least 7-8 free glasses of champagne (everyone got free glasses, but I got extra to 'drown my sorrows' because I was a Cubs fan). About 5 minutes after the game, hundreds of Sox fans walked out to the streets of Wrigleyville and celebrated on the sidewalks. Hundreds of cars drove by honking horns. On guy drove by with a Cubs flag waving, and Sox fans literally tried to stop him right in the middle of the street to give him a hard time.

Anyways, so I walk across the street to Wrigley, and what do I see? About 60-70 Sox fans standing at the corner of Clark and Addison waving Sox flags, taking pictures, etc. Everyone one I asked basically said "I couldn't think of a better place to celebrate then outside Wrigley."

So basically the first thing that came to Sox fans minds when celebrating was "lets go gloat to the Cubs"....how juvenile....

As I said in another thread, there are some Sox fans that will truly enjoy the moment of winning a championship. However, I get amusement in the "fans" that are more focused on the Cubs not winning the title than the fact that the Sox just won the series.

Doesn't sound like any problem a few warning shots wouldn't cure. Kill two birds with one stone: clear the jerks out of the area, and make them feel like they're right at home in the streets around the Cell.

Let's pray for Wrigley to survive the night. Lord knows if you throw too many drunk Sox fans together, they'll consider burning it down.

Too bad I don't live in Chicago...I would have gone out as well, wearing my Cubs stuff proudly.

It's a good thing Sox fans probably haven't learned to manipulate fire.

As many know, I live a block north of Wrigley. I was out playing ice hockey until now, but since I've gotten home 10 minutes ago there's been fairly constant honking.

Something tells me I won't be sleeping so well tonight.

Thank God I live all the way over on Ashland.

Also, look on MLB.com tomorrow for a quote from me. A freelance writer had the nerve to ask me questions at the bar because I am a Cubs fan.

This was a supremely evil post but it was also probably the funniest thing I have read on NSBB.

More class from Sox fans. A friend that was WITH me tonight that left us when we left to go home. This is taken from an IM convo

Him: 3 white sox fans beat me up

Him: no i was walking to the el and these three dudes were saying stuff and then one of them pushed me so i pushed him then bam the other two were on me

Him: yeah just a bit sore...it only lasted like 30 seconds

Him: they were just giving me crap cuz of my cubs hat then one of them pushed me

Him: oh well...it just gives me more of a reason to hate the sox

Wow, that's weird. I live near the Cell and there have been only sporadic bursts of car honking and a few rounds of firecrackers going off. Not quite the wild celebration I expected.

The only thing consistently loud is the helicopters flying around.

I'm one of UMFan's best friends and was out with him and a few others tonight, and I'm completely appalled by what I saw tonight. Going to the Cubby Bear thinking I'd be in a a safe zone, i was well wrong. we were one of 8 people cheering for the astros (as opposed to the 90 or so cheerin on the white sox). it was pathetic. and just as tony (umfan) said about the peopel standin outside of wrigley, one white sox fan had the nerve to say "the white sox just took over chicago. u guys got nothing! go ahead and watch us as we cheer on our team, hopefully oyu guys will have somethin to cheer on within the next century" i stood by tony as if i were about to take on an army. it was ridiculous. as i put clearly in my recent post about the hypocricy of chicago, white sox fans have no class. this clearly proved that.

"Rooting for the Sox right now because you are a "Chicago Fan" is like saying you didn't care how the Civil War turned out becuase you are an "America Fan."

Are you saying the southside is going to try to secede?

Cause I think we could take them.

Don't underestimate the power of a large amount of ghetto trash. They've probably got many more guns than we do and they have the added benefit of having "street smarts".

Did you actually expect bars in Chicago to not be filled with Sox fans? Were you expecting a giant contingent of Cub fans to be out watching the White Sox, even in the Wrigley area?

And if you believe your own opinion of Sox fans, why even bother with the potential for trouble?

That's funny. Mind if I borrow it for a new signature?

Edit: Sox fans know how to manipulate fire. How else would they cook meth and freebase cocaine?

It'll just make it sweeter when we (finally) put it together. Maybe this will light a competitive fire under Hendry?

Other than being beat up (gads) I allow the sox fans to gloat as much as they want. Hey, that's sports. I lived out in Ca. when the bulls finally beat the Fakers for their first title. I was tough to be around... oh yeah...

That was some pretty good baseball in my opinion. I like watching well played baseball.

I realize that as Cubs fans, we're all hurting and jealous of the Sox' recent success. But could we please limit the amount of socioeconomic rips on people from the South Side?

These references to "ghetto trash", cocaine and meth use/fabrication, and gun usage make me embarrassed right now to be a Cubs fan. This comes across as elitist, classist, and racist.

I have no problem with hating Sox fans because they're rooting for what we believe is the wrong team, but to do so simply because they generally don't live in the nicest area of Chicago is prejudicial and uncalled for.
