In all do respect, what's the difference between saying Corey or Sammy Soso?( not allowed on this site) compared to name calling & insulting Dusty,Neifi & Macias? Moron, stupid & idiot has been used on many occasions.(allowed on this site). Answer: there is no difference, there is just a bias.

It doesn't make any difference to me, just pointing out the facts.

TBCF:

I think the difference is in the context most of the time. If someone is calling a move or decision stupid, idiotic, or whatever, it's one thing. If they use the adjectives in the midst of a larger statement, it's borderline. If it's used in an ad hominem style then it's over the line.

I think personally that the people here are good enough and smart enough to refrain from just insulting or demeaning players with silly nicknames or derisive nicknames. A simple "Corey sucked this year" does the job just as well.

*edit* all best are off in the Rants section, though.

What's the difference to posting Corey or Corey K's too much? Same thing if you ask me.

What about Sammy Soso or just saying Sammy Sosa is an egotistical primaddona, selfish jerk? Same thing again

Because one is in the context of a larger, more well thought out argument and the other is childish name calling.

Criticizing players' performance is fine; childish name calling is not. If it were, there would be no need for the word sensors in the first place.

using "Corey" means both that you're aware that "Corey" is against the rules and that you're intentionally violating the rules of the board.

Corey clearly can't stay in Chicago, his performance and attitude have seriously rubbed fans the wrong way. I think he could have a shot at success in Atlanta, he'd be given a new start back near his family and friends and under some of the best coaching in the game. Farnsworth also heard plenty of boos at Wrigley, and since going back to his hometown has thrived. I recall someone talking about a CPatt + Walker for M Giles, I'd be behind a deal like that.

sometimes it is approriate to say "I told you so" and cory is the one I'll sohout that out loud on top of the mountain I TOLD YOU SO.

admit it, a lot of you said " he is the next coming of.........., "he a five tool guy" "He'll be a grat lead off man"

He is terrible fit for the Cubs. A lesson/rule we should have is don't tought up or crete a bndwgn until a guy shows he can go back to back years over .300 and drive in a few runs as well as a high OBP esp if he is a lead off hitter.

Cory makes you wish for Jerome Walton back.

get rid of him to LA of the Angels so he cannot have influence on his younger brother who realy is the second coming of.........

And sometimes its appropriate to say "Get over yourself" and I think this might be a perfect time.

Pat Burrell's 2003 season looked a lot like Corey's season this year. Burrell turned it around. Corey could to. If it means letting him go for nothing or trading him for next to nothing in return, I'd just as soon keep him as a back up outfielder.

He's due to make about $4 million next year, isn't he? He's not going to be a backup outfielder at that rate.

*If* Hendry et al is serious about promoting a Pie or Greenberg again to play, Corey will be the vet who has the 4 million good reasons to be starting.
