When was the last time we started a season at home?

2006: @ Reds

2005: @ Arizona

2004: @ Reds

2003: @ Mets

2002: @ Reds (I think)

We opened at home in 2001 vs Montreal (4/2/01)

Man, was that a cold day. The later the better is fine by me.

I agree...on both points

By my count:

Boston

NY Yankees

NY Mets

Baltimore

Washington

Atlanta

Texas

St. Louis

LA Angels

Chi Cubs

Have not released their schedules yet. Or did I just miss one, and if so, what's the link?

Anyone else sick of playing the Reds first week of the season? It's happened now in 2003, 2004, and 2006 just to name some recent years.

Where did the Cubs Cards schedule get released?

It wasn't. I got it from a source who would like to remain anonymous. But, I guarantee this source would not give me false info.

Thanks.

Not in the bleachers! I was in short-sleves by the fifth inning thanks to the sun.

Now that the bleachers are being built up, there will be more warm seats on days the wind is blowing in. :(

Slow day at work so I decided to look at next year's schedule. A couple of interesting (at least to me) tidbits:

Longest road trip: 10 games, June 2-11 at StL, Hou, Cin

Longest home stand: 11 games, July 27-August 6 vs. StL, AZ, Pitt

Longest stretch of games with no off day: 20, September 1 - 20

No games vs. StL or Houston after August 27.

Month home vs. away

April: 12/11

May: 14/15

June: 11/16

July: 13/13

August: 13/15

September: 17/11

October: 1/0

For what it's worth....I have the 2006 schedule up on my web site in a nice easily readable calendar format

Basically, we get to play 6 against the AL Champs while St. Louis gets to play 6 vs. KC, the AL Chumps, right?

That's a 6 game swing like always. Another season of easy-schedule Cardinals...

Oh, and the Stros probably get their annual 6-game "rivalry" against the Rangers. They must be quaking in their boots.

I'm just assuming all this, of course...........I don't even care if I'm right this season. It's complete B.S. that we must put up with one of the roughest rivalries in all of baseball year in & year out while the Cards play their AAA affiliate.

Equally unfair for the AL teams, as KC has to get pounded by St. Louis for six while the White Sox mop up with us.

Like KC doesn't have it bad enough already.

We play the Cards six times in April?!

Look for them to jump ahead in the division early this year....

Not so fast my friend. We did take the season series from STL this year, after all.
