Confusing remarks

Mark Prior allowed two runs in six innings Sunday and was pulled after 104 pitches.

"Mark got a little tired," Baker said. "His leg was bothering him some, so we thought it was best to get him out of there."

Prior denied his leg was bothering him, then was asked if it had anything to do with him coming out.

"I don't know," he replied.

Both runs off Prior came during a two-out rally in the fifth after Prior gave up a single to opposing pitcher Jeff Suppan.

"My fault," Prior said. "No excuse for why he should get on base right there."

another fine example of how our players and coaches are on the same page!!!

Yeah--one takes accountability for his actions! What's he thinking???

They lied about Prior in 2003. He had the Achilles problem down the strech in 2003, and yet he was allowed to throw 8 innings, 120 pitches w/ a 10-run lead in game 2 of the NLCS.

Unless they lied about the Achilles injury in 2004 and were covering for an elbow injury.

From Bruce Miles:

Baker was pointing to his own upper right leg when he was talking. Is it a groin or a quadriceps with Prior?

“Slight leg thing,” Baker said.

From the Trib:

"It's not serious. We certainly don't want to lose him down the stretch."

Can someone tell Dusty that there is no "stretch". Sit down your hurt players, stop having starting pitchers throw 120 pitches to protect a lead...

After Sammygate:

Dusty - "I called Sammy."

Sammy - "No, he didn't."

After Zambrano got tossed:

Dusty - "I talked to Z."

Z - "Dusty never talked to me."

After Zambrano taken out of game:

Dusty - "He was hurt."

Z - "No, I wasn't."

After Prior removed from game:

Dusty - "His leg was hurt."

Prior - "It was?"

Sorry I don't have linked quotes. If I have time, all go though our archives here.

You forgot the most recent one

Dusty "he missed a sign"

Jerry "I didn't see a sign, maybe someone will let me know tomorrow"

Is anyone starting to think Dusty is like some of my students who make up lies to fit the situation?

I really just want him gone. It's past time for this.

Agreed. I can't stand this man anymore. he has worn out his welcome as far as I'm concerned.
