  1. More idiocy from Dusty. What else is new?
  2. Questec is the system. I don't know if MLB still uses it. I know a few years ago Curt Schilling smashed one of those cameras w/ a bat and got fined 10 Grand.
  3. If Patterson is brought back, look at my avatar and repeat 1 trillion times to see what I will do.
  4. Those are the only STUDS I can think of, unless you count Sosa for the Dominican Republic.
  5. Anyone who pitches for the Braves will have good success. Look at Alfonseca. He sucked w/ the Cubs, has like a 2.50 ERA in Atlanta, goes back to Florida and he SUCKS! I'm surprised Danny Graves didn't sign w/ the Braves when he was DFA.
  6. This is stupid by Walker and if Hendry lets him go for this, he's also stupid. As Dennis Rodman said, "Chemistry is a class you take in high school or college" As for Todd Walker, there is a concept called mute the TV and turn on the radio. Grasp it, Todd
  7. It's why ALou and Merker were let go after last season, and the Farns was traded
  8. Dominican Republic. How is this for MURDER: 1B: Pujols 2B: Soriano SS: Tejada 3B: Aramis Ramirez OF: Manny Ramirez OF: Vlad DH: Big Papi Pitchers: Colon and Martinez Feel free to add your own lineups and other STUDS from these countries For Venezula: 1-2-3 rotation of Santana, Zambrano, Garcia Hitters: Cabrera and Ordonez US: Pick and choose. A zillion options.
  9. Will do.
  10. Alou and Merker ripped Stone and Carry and were let go. If Hendry is going to get rid of players for ripping broadcasters, Todd Walker can punch a 1-way ticket out of town. I really want Walker back, though. I like his offense.
  11. They lied about Prior in 2003. He had the Achilles problem down the strech in 2003, and yet he was allowed to throw 8 innings, 120 pitches w/ a 10-run lead in game 2 of the NLCS.
  12. Well if there is, can't mods or admins merge the 2?
  13. The only time I will ever root for the White Sox is if they are playing an NL team making havoc for the Cubs during the regular season. Otherwise, I will always root for them to lose.
  14. I have a Cubs schedule from 1978. Found it when my parents were getting the kitchen redone in my Skokie house.
  15. W/ MLB World Cup play next spring, I've formulated a lineup for the Dominican Republic.
  16. So what you're saying in a nutshell is "trust your eyes over the stats". I doubt you find Rate in any boxscore, and it's more reliable than the pliable perceptions of the individual. Stats should be looked at, but it's not the only thing to look at.
  17. W/ everything, you've got to look beyond the box score. The players do things that don't show up in the box score, like hustle to a ball, back up a play, hit the cutoff-masn, etc. Got to look beyond the box score.

  19. It wasn't meant to be an attack on you. It was a general statement. I'm sorry.
  20. Please do not call posters or groups of posters names like "idiots." That sort of behavior is not acceptable at NSBB. It was not meant to be an attack on anyone. It was a general statement. Sorry to those offended.
  21. But wood gets injured!!!!! DONT YOU KNOW THIS! AMEN! The year Wood, Prior, and Zambrano ALL stay healthy as starters will be our year. I still like the Wood-Dempster 8-9 inning combo, though. Think about World Series game 7, and both Wood and Prior are available out of the pen. Dare I say a healthy Wood-Prior-Zambrano>Maddux-Glavine-Smoltz?

  23. And it's darn good thing the Cubs didn't go hard after Beltran, and if Burnett wants a 5-6 year deal, the Cubs shouldn't go hard after him either. At least his agent isn't Boras.
  24. Quick quiz, who was the better defensive RF, '04 Sosa or '05 Burnitz? Answer: They're basically the same, Rates of 105 to 106. HELL NO! Burnitz is a much better fielder. He has gotten to a lot of balls that would've gotten by Sosa, and he can actually hit the cut-off man. Got to look beyond the box score, man.
  25. They're completly free of Mike Hampton's and Danny Neagle's contracts after this year, but they still got this: Todd Helton: 9-Year worth 141.5M- will make in 2003- 10.6M, in 2004- 11.6M, in 2005-12.6M, in 2006- 16.6M, in 2007-16.6M, in 2>008- 16.6M. in 2009-16.6M, in 2010-16.6M, in 2011- 19.1M and in 2012- Team option 23M or 4.6M buyout- + has ability to void deal after 2007 and become a Free Agent, if he notifies the team of his decision by Nov. 15, 2006- + he has a complete NO-TRADE clause- + BONUSES he has received: 25K bonus for 2004 All-Star, 25K for 2004 Gold Glove Agent: Michael Moye Service Time: 7.059
