The worst thing that can happen under the circumstances of this team right now is for Hendry to make panic trades in order to try to salvage some semblence of dignity for the season.

No way does Murton go. Cubs have plenty of players who can throw heat. Now guys that can throw heat without getting burned.... :P

Wow.... if Jim does make this trade, then he'll be, oh, how can I say it nicely? "Dumbest GM in 05?" *shrug*

 

McDougal isn't too bad, but he's like a Farnsworth from what I saw. 03, had a good year, 04, imploded, was optioned to Omaha, and all.

 

Affeldt is a run giving up guy. I can recall seeing some Royals games that the Royals were either blowing out or being blown out, that where Affeldt would be in, and give up 3 runs or so.

 

We don't need any more pitching, or if that's the case, then at least Hendry should get someone worlds better than those two. But we do deftinaly need some more offense, that's for sure.

I'll take the counter argument. In the past Hendry has unloaded prospects he received from other orgs. to get an MLB player. If he thinks this season can be saved, Murton may be traded for an impact bat. I can't believe that anybody thinks this season can be saved with Baker at the helm.

Looks like the Marlins are interested in Affeldt and either Matt Stairs or Terrence Long. KC wants a young corner outfielder from Florida in return according to this report, so it fits well with the Murton inquiry.

 

 

If the Marlins are looking for an OF surely Todd Hollandsworth's numbers are equivalent or better than Stairs or Long.
