Sheesh... lotta Negative Nancys here. They're only down 3 and more than half the game is left.

Half the board seems to have gone to bed early, lol?

If you guys were on the team you'd be shipped out for a bag of used jockey straps for being such quitters.

Whatchyoo watch sports for if you gotta be winning from post to post?

And, Pete hasn't done much in the post season.

Unfortunate. But true.

Continue to have no clue how Jed got that extension. Certainly there was a cheaper yes man for PTR to hire…

What I find interesting are the rumors that there are teams interested in Carter Hawkins to lead their baseball operations.  Like, what do they see here to make them think, "We need to go get a guy from that front office?"

Wow, really? Haven’t seen those rumors. I don’t wish that on any serious organization

Most of us knew if the bats didn't show up this series, the pitching wasn't going to hold down the Padres enough to overcome it.

These guys either score 5+ or nothing, PCA and Bregman aren't saving them and theyre doing nothing.

Hoyer needs to go for someone with fresh ideas on how to put a roster together,  but that wont happen.

I dont expect too much of an upgrade this offseason, but we'll see

Somebody fire the Padres color guy

He has a lot of positives to talk about. If the script was flipped, JD would be talking up the cubs. This announcing team is really good.

I was referring to the guy asking why Shaw was even playing.  As if this whole team hasn’t been absolute horsefeathers.

We really don’t know Hawkins enough though. Jed calls the shots.
It was the same when Theo ran this club-Jed was just his errand boy.

as we watch the padres march out their army of absurd relievers, remember that hoyer gave thielbar, harvey and maton a combined $15 mil to put up like -1.0 WAR.

of all his fireable offenses, that one is right up there.

But why is Shaw playing?

JD mentioned it on the broadcast. Said Counsell felt Shaw had a better chance to hit the hard fastballs better than Ramirez

The combination of PTR, Jed, and the dodgers ruining free agency had really zapped my love of baseball the last few years anyway. So this doesn’t even hurt. Just grateful I got to experience 2016.

That's fair.  Maybe Hawkins has all kinds of different ideas that diverge from Jed's modus operandi.  But they have always seemed to be in lock step, at least publicly.

He’s a really bad GM who runs a bad minor league system and is terrible at defending himself in the media. Somebody please take him off our hands.

He’s pulling levers that don’t exist.
