Curious if Shelby Miller resurfaces today or if he's on track for more of a tomorrow or Wednesday

The question is will the Cubs win another Boyd start this season?  Dropped his last 4, I've my doubts about the Cubs winning his start today but, hey, it's baseball stranger things have happened.

What do we do with Busch come playoff time ? He’s been borderline unplayable. Can Shaw play first ? Happ?

Shaw has been taking reps at first from what I understand.

Shaw looked really bad at 1B.  Busch will play.

I don’t remember this, but apparently Carson Kelly started a game at 1B this season.

Yeah, he did, and he was better than Shaw, Amaya and Mo, who also played 1B.  Super small sample size, though.

Busch will be fine. Just needs a little rest to get his feet back under him.

Yep, Busch hitting .143 over his last 10 games, .223 since August 1, and .231 since the break.

Wonder if he's been nursing an injury most, if not all, of the season?  I don't believe, as in previous seasons, he's managed a two week hot streak.  Read his bat speed is down, something's not right.

It looks like hes rolling over and getting on top of everything.

I always wondered why they didn't try this sooner.  6'6" makes a pretty good target for the IFs and if he could hit a little, he would make for a good platoon OF/1B.

I'm wrong about him having a hot streak, he was pretty good in May, the rest of the season not so good.

There was like a 20 game stretch in June or July I think where he was pretty hot. Arbitrary sample points but I remember when I was at the Yankees-Cubs game on the 8/2, they had a stat on the board saying he was hitting pretty well but thats the only time I can remember.

That's pretty much it, for the most part, he's been awful in 2026:

Was 2025 an outlier career year for Busch and this season is closer to who he is?  Guess, 2027 will tell us.

Maybe those extra games/AB facing lefties wasn't the best thing to do for him this year.

Should of eased him in slowly 🤷

He jumped from 11 starts 95 PA  in 2025 to 41 starts and 188 PA this year, he has only missed 3 games,  today the 4th.
